Life Excerpt

She could feel the heat rising inside her and knew that her face would soon be very red. It was not unusual, in fact it happened daily. She would blush from the smallest of things. She hated it. How many times hadn't she been made fun of because of her blushing? Especially when she'd been younger. Then it had felt as if she blushed at everything. Nowadays she knew that it was mostly when it involved guys. Whether it be that they touched her or just asked her something didn't matter. She would be red in mere seconds...
Sebille hurried past the group of people standing outside the church. She loved spending time in there. It was like a safe haven for her. The fact that very few people in the village spent time in there was just an added bonus. It was mostly Thundercloud that, other than herself, chose to spend any time in their lovely church. And she'd grown more and more relaxed around him lately, which she put down as getting used to him being there. The fact that Thundercloud kept quiet and to himself was nice, even if it was unusual considering how talkative he usually was. She welcomed it nonetheless. But she was headed out of the village to go on her daily walk. The heat in her cheeks started dissipating as soon as she was out of sight of the group she'd passed. Letting out a sigh of relief, she headed for the surrounding woods.


It was a beautiful day for a walk. The sun was shining and it's rays were trickling through the leaves of the trees around her, casting everything in a calming and perfectly serene green light. Birds were singing and chirping all around her and a light breeze occasionally rustled gently through the leaves. Taking a deep breath she inhaled the soothing fragrance of the surrounding woods and the flowers that grew there. She wasn't very good at naming flowers but enjoyed it all the same.


She'd stopped in a clearing to enjoy the moment when a twig broke behind her. She swirled around, ready to attack. Standing before her was a member of the Twisters, a sworn enemy of the Sky-Walkers, and yet she didn't feel the least bit scared or angry as one might expect her to. Instead what she felt was a fluttering feeling in her stomach.
-"I was hoping I'd run into you today" he said in a husky voice as he took a step closer, put his arms around her and embraced her lovingly. "I've missed you." He whispered in her ear before kissing her lightly on the neck. It sent delightful shivers down her spine and all over her body. She could feel the heat rising once again, and knew she was blushing. This time she didn't care though. She didn't care about anything right now, but this embrace. The two of them in this moment in time. This was all that mattered to her. Next thing she knew he kissed her with a passion she'd never felt before.
-"Jarod..." Was all she could say as their lips parted. He looked her in the eyes for a brief moment before kissing her once again. This time she could feel the love she'd witnessed as their eyes met just then. She thanked God for granting her such a gift as Jarod.
