Tatters is based on a Turkish Van cat, and is a naval officer docked in the city where the Teashop Crew's story is set. He's an excellent swimmer, hence joining the navy. Very Scarlet Pimpernel in personality, honour bound but also quite laid back and carefree. He loosely wears a sort of turban headdress, which was a gift from his mother, who shared his looks.

He's missing from the start of the Teashop Crew's story, and has no idea of his sister's predicament. When he meets her again after a long time, he's confused by the way she is dressed (no headdress) but wraps her up in a hug anyway. Seeing him again is the first sign of her old life in months, and her memory floods back to her. She is immediately angry at the Teashop Crew, and wants to know where her children are.

Tattersail helps the TSC out on various occasions, as he's very good with his sabre and believes in justice and fighting on the right side. He helps teach swordsmanship, is very polite, and likes to drink darjeeling.
