Tenacious has a minion!

Vaylis the Sonata

Lazily laying along a large rock just off shore, Vaylis stared calmly up at the sky, watching the clouds slowly make their way across the sky as it darkened; a storm rolling in. A slight twisted smile pulled at her lips as she swished her long fish tail in the water. The weather was perfect. She perferred to hunt at night, but it was getting increasingly more difficult considering humans were avoiding this area of the ocean more and more. She was going to have to go to a new hunting grounds if she was to continue.

Tilting her head back, she watched the shore from an upside down perspective, waiting for a signal- a sign that Tenacious was bringing her something worth while. Seeing a rustle in the brush, she quickly turned and sat up, but ducked back once more just in case- not wishing anyone to spy her upon the rock. Then the laugh rang through the air and Vaylis frowned. Was that a child? With a huff, she slipped down into the water, hiding behind the large rock to block her further from view as she saw her dear Tenacious running out from the treeline- rather prancing and soon followed by a young girl, looking no older than in her eighth year.

What is he thinking, bringing me a baby? She won't provide enough for me.... Vaylis frowned again, flicking her tail impatiently under the water.

Before she thought of simply going back under the water in her annoyance, she paused as she saw more movement following after the little man-child. Two figures then emerged from the trees as well. An older woman and a man, her hand in the crook of his arm. A slow smile spread over her lips as she watched the couple follow after their child who was playing with Tenacious who played the part of cute playful pup well. She watched her faithful Jollin intensely before she saw the creature turn its sea blue eyes to her, his eyes sparkling with humor. Vaylis just rolled her eyes and shook her head softly before looking back to the adult human's who appeared to have stopped walking.

The woman seemed distressed as the sonata witnessed her waving her hands and pointing to the ocean, but her companion did not seem phased or worried about whatever it was she was so concerned about. Then to Vaylis' surprise, the man turned and started walking into the water. The sound of the crashing waves around her drowned out their voices, but Vaylis could tell he was trying to prove a point- for his woman was almost frantic in attempting to get him back to shore without getting the hem of her fancy full skirted dress wet. Her parasol had been abandoned as she moved towards the water, the look on her face desperate, worried with a touch of annoyance that the man would tempt fate.

"There is nothing to fear my dear!" the man's voice carried out as he was closer now to where Vaylis hid, his form into the water up to his knees and he was still moving deeper within the depths.
Just a little closer… Vaylis licked her lips a little, knowing she could easily reach him, but didn't wish the girl to glimpse her and warn him. So she waited.

The woman was still calling to him, but hadn't moved further into the water, her words still indistinguishable. While Vaylis waited to see how far he would attempt to get into the water, she shifted to look around the other end of the rock to see what the small child and Tenacious were doing. She saw the little girl turn and look at whom Vaylis assumed to be her mother- now looking concerned. She left the jollin as she turned to go to the woman and see why she was so distressed- unaware of the dangers of this particular beach.

Then there was a loud splash. Jumping slightly, Vaylis moved back to the other side of the rock only to find the man no longer there standing where she'd just left him; he had completely submerged into the water!

With some panic for herself, Vaylis looked around herself quickly, not sure where he had gotten off to. Just as she was about to jump back into the water herself to locate him, he came up once more, reaching out for the rock she was hiding behind and pulled himself up out of the water some, wiping his face free of the water.

Now within arms length, Vaylis looked at him with some shock, having not expected him to come up right where she was hiding. For a moment she forgot why she was there; looking at his handsome face, his cut jawline covered in a soft stubble revealing he had not shaved yet that day. His dark locks stuck up a little at the front where he had pushed them back from his face, ends dripping ocean water.

Vaylis slowly ducked further down as he had not yet noticed her, but faced the shore and waved at the woman with a laugh.

"See sister? All is well!" he called back to shore with a chuckle, shaking his head softly as the woman did not seem to calm.

Snapping back into the present, Vaylis' lips slowly stretched out into a wicked smile as her form slipped back into the water. In a moment she moved around to his side of the rock and suddenly appeared above the water directly in front of him.

"Not quite all well, handsome." she grinned at him, moving right up to him, pinning her naked form right against his chest as her hands grabbed fist fulls of his shirt.

The man gasped, attempting to grab the rock as Vaylis' lips parted and she leaned in, planting her mouth upon his. He expected something to happen, some sort of pain or weakness- but he felt nothing but her full lips on his and for a moment he relaxed. When she leaned back again, his brows raised in surprise and confusion, noticing although she was strange in her color- blending well with the ocean water- she was strikingly gorgeous.

"There now... nothing to fear…" Vaylis said with a soft breath, one hand moving down over his head and side of his face, caressing gently and then slid softly to his neck, pulling the fabric back. "It will be over soon…"

"Wait, what?" the man jerked back a little, having gotten lost in her touch and the feel of her form against his- his mind wandering to less than pure thoughts to his own surprise. But he got his answer when Vaylis suddenly bared her teeth, showing fangs that certainly weren't there before and with a somewhat feral sound, she quickly latched onto his neck and bit down, longer fangs piercing into his carotid artery, releasing the dark crimson liquid into her mouth.

Somewhere onshore the woman's scream echoed over the crashing waves, but Vaylis cared not as she drained him, drinking fully with a roll of her own body, pulling him back into the depths of the water, the two slipping away into waves and froth....

Rain fell in drizzles as Tenacious the jollin, slowly emerged from the ocean, dragging the lifeless body of the man ashore. He glanced up where the woman and her daughter were still sitting on the beach, clutching each other; trembling and sobbing. With a soft bark, he alerted them of the body of brother and uncle- catching the chocolate eyes of the sisters': red and shining from her grief- before turning and disappearing back into the ocean and back to his mistress.

No remorse shone in the jollin's face as he swam back to the sonata, greeted with affection as she enveloped him in her arms and rubbed his head, kissing him along the muzzle.

"Good boy. Come, let us get some sleep…" Vaylis said and with him following closely behind, she turned and swam into darkness to the cavern they called home, awaiting another day.

There would always be one more.
