tl;dr Zil is a devout follower of the Masked Lord and is actively working to create a stronghold for his people on the world's surface. A young and charismatic fellow, he's tasked with trying to understand (and find valuable allies in) lesser races like humans and high elves.
It's not going great.
These people are stupid, and their ideas and emotions are
stupid.
But man, he's really trying.
For the most part he hangs out with other rogues and scoundrels of different races, since regular goodly folk run screaming at the sight of him. While Zil is an awful, selfish creature as much as any other drow is, he does have a
modicum of loyalty to people he considers valuable or useful, even if they
are lesser creatures. This has, so far, earned him a few...what do you call those?
...friends? Or something?
Darkness - creates an area of impenetrable darkness
Spiderwalk - enables him to climb virtually any surface
Charm - forces one target to view Zil as a friend/ally
Fell Flight - grants the ability to fly at alarming speed
Curse of Despair - bestows a curse on a touched person, hindering their abilities or attacks until it is lifted
The Dead Walk - creates undead
Hungry Darkness - summons shadows that are filled with swarms of bats
Devour Magic - dispels and absorbs enemy magic, affording Zil temporary health depending on the spell absorbed
Tenacious Plague - summons a swarm of powerful magical insects
Warlock's Call - communicates magically with a person of choice, over limited distance
Dark Discorporation - Zil transforms himself into a swarm of bat-like shadows to engulf and attack foes
Path of Shadow - Enables Zil to walk/travel through shadows, along with anyone he touches, while simultaneously accelerating his own healing. Shadow-walking shifts him to a place between the Material Plane (the normal world) and the Shadow Plane. Stepping from there into the Shadow Plane accelerates his speed to roughly 50mph, allowing for blindingly fast travel. The effort leaves Zil and any of his passengers exhausted.
Due to taking the Necropolis Born feat, Zil can also Cause Fear, create Ghost Sound, and deliver a Touch of Fatigue once a day.
== Eldritch Blast Modifications ==
Zil's standard damage-dealing ability is the Eldritch Blast, which draws the fell energy from his soul and forms it into a sickly green energy that can be launched at foes.
He can modify this energy to have certain effects, such as causing fear, confusion, sickness, or blindness.
--As a Warlock, Zil has the standard powers of his class; he heals at an accelerated rate due to his Fiendish Resilience, and he takes less damage from normal weapons (although cold-iron forged weapons hurt him). He can detect the presence of magic at will, and he is highly resistant to fire or lighting energies. With his secondary class being Rogue, he is also adept at climbing, hiding, thievery, and the occasional necessary backstabbing.
--As a member of the Drow race, Zil has powerful magic resistance, immunity to sleep spells and spell-like effects, and can see perfectly in non-magical darkness.

--Drow are naturally very frail and do not hold up well against physical damage, and Zil is no exception. He has a severe weakness to light (especially sunlight), which renders him temporarily blinded and lessens his visibility. If the light is powerful and sudden enough, it leaves him stunned or unconscious.
--Due to the supernatural forces within him, Zil is not capable of setting foot on holy ground without experiencing terrible agony. He also cannot touch weapons that are forged of cold-iron, and such weapons will do extra damage when used against him.
