The entry to her exquisite cave does not look like much. Stalactites hang like the yellowed teeth of some foul beast ready to pounce and infect an unwitting passerby with some horrible disease. There is a vague odor of rotten eggs that not even the scavenging seabirds find appealing. Confusion charms and repulsion hexes are layered so thickly that a magician with the skills to see them would nearly go blind if they were to stare directly into the cave's mouth.

A visitor not deterred by these precautions would need artificial lungs to cross the flooded floor of the first level. Those that dwell in the sea will find equal difficulty in passing the second level which is dampened by only the most violent storms. The third level requires wings, leaving most would-be intruders scratching their heads in bafflement as to how Subeta's most celebrated jeweler can stand to live in such an inhospitable place. Even those rare few who make it to the true front door of Zilvra's home will find themselves frustrated when they encounter the three-part identification system the serpenth uses to keep outsiders from ever viewing the interior of her private little world.

She lacks no modern comfort from the Get Mugged Superior Coffee Maker that can brew one-hundred and twenty-three unique drinks at the touch of a button to the GoOutside virtual reality exercise machine that allows her to climb the top of Mount Sheeta or swim the coast of Omen Islands from the comfort of home. Her most valuable possession is the sleek black laptop that outdoes the Computer Geek's own internet speed, allowing Zilvra to maintain her jewelry website and complete online orders without ever having to worry about that pesky internet connection unavailable symbol.

Unlike many jewelry artists, she does not rely on suppliers for the beads and gems used in her work. Her advanced degree in gemology from Subeta University allows her to distinguish the rare and valuable from the flawed stones that look good on the surface but will dull or crack after a few years of wear. Her serpentine body and adaptation to underwater life allow her to explore caves that Subeta's marine biologists can only fantasize about. A piece of jewelry made by Zilvra is absolutely and without question one that will be unique, timeless, and worth more than most Subetans can earn in a year.

She not only makes gorgeous gifts for special occasions but works special runes into the surface of her pieces, making them beautiful and functional. The life of Sebastian Phoenix was once saved by a necklace of Zilvra's design that turned deadly poison to harmless water as he drank from a tainted cup. She can craft metals that will survive the harshness of salt water and slip easily over a tutani's fin or metals made of starlight mixed with darkmatter particles that will not irritate the skin of a cadogre by scraping. There is no Subetan species she has not worked with in the past.

Rest assured that your creative desires need not be confined to simple rings and boring bracelets. Zilvra delights in custom orders and will gladly piece together a priggle pendant with gemstone spines and real onyx eyes or a mage's staff head carved with all twelve signs of the zodiac. There are no limits to her imagination, if your wallet is deep enough.

She allows no haggling. Such unique works of art are not half-rotted turnips to be bargained down for their more useful segments. These are treasures to be passed down through ten generations and the price she sets is the price she gets. Those that cannot accept this might try one of the tacky rings or ugly bracelets on display at the Carnival. Such jewelry is suitable for clowns.

She has a special place in her heart for those adventurers who seek a good story to tell rather than fame and glory.

She despises thieves. Every piece she creates has just a drop of her magic in it. She knows when a Zilvra original changes hands, regardless of time or distance. From the comfort of her cave she can mutter a curse that will sap the health of a thief and give them nothing but obstacles and hardships in their line of work until they rid themselves of the jewel that curses them. The thieves are also plagued with nightmares that involve the revenge of the proper owner visited upon their heads. Not one single piece of Zilvra's has ever failed to make it back into the hands of the proper owner.

Luxury is her way of life but it is often not for herself that she often splurges. Darkmoon is her darling, a minion spoiled with caviar at every meal and a purple velvet cushion embroidered with his name. Zilvra never fails to come home from her jewelry deliveries without some tasty morsel suitable to the Halloeve's endless craving for seafood. He has toys with fresh minion nip flown in from a private farm she owns in Veta Lake and even his food dish is engraved with a golden scripted D on the front.

He is the only creature that has ever understood how she puts a piece of herself into each jewel, purring when a lovely piece takes its beautiful shape and arching his back with a hiss of annoyance on those rare occasions when her muse abandons her for the evening. Sometimes it almost feels as if her minion knows her mind before forming thoughts are revealed to Zilvra.
