Mr. Bubbles gazes into the opening he just lifted the little sister into for a moment, cautious of he the possibility that she may have turned back. Aside from his strong compulsion to protect her, he feels an ever-present love for the child; as it she were his own. After a moment, he turns away from the vent, the familiar feeling of longing setting in.
The room is dark, most of the lighting coming from lamps that have been knocked from the tables that also lay on the floor. Broken glass, ceramic tableware and rotten food create a cacophony of squelching and crunching under his heavy boots. He sighs heavily, staring at his surroundings. This used to be a grand ballroom; remnants of beautiful crystal chandeliers still hang from the ceilings, amidst countless bullet holes and years of water damage. What hasn't fallen off gives him a vague idea of the long gone grandeur. The ghosts of the past whisper to him tales of their glory years; rich, lavish fabric and fragrant platters of fresh fruit playing with the thickly perfumed air, shiny place settings glinting in the amber chandelier light, beautiful women on the arms of handsome men dancing, laughing and enjoying the delicious food.
Mr. Bubbles has no memory of the way Rapture used to be; the conditioning he endured removed most of his memories, save for a few that occasionally trickle in from the far reaches of his brain.
The memories he does have began the day he was introduced to his little sister. She smiled at him, and the world disappeared for a moment. His life instantly became about protecting her- this child he had never met before that day. And in that moment, he knew it was right. That what he did was what he was meant to do. Every time he sees his little sister, he is overcome with that same desire to protect her from harm.
Mr. Bubbles couldn't help but worry about his little sister after she had crawled into the vent. The separation caused near palpable pain, but he knew that it was necessary for her to enter the vent after every adventure.

All he knows is the love and compassion he feels for her, like nothing he ever felt before.
He will do what ever is necessary to keep her safe, even if it means laying down his own life.
