Martie is Mitchie's little sister. She's several years younger than Mitchie, but was only a grade behind thanks to skipping several grades and receiving a ton of scholarships to the same private university that Mitchie attended. Before the end of the world, her legal name was Martin and she was born male. She came out as transgender very young and had her parent's permission to transition. Martie was able to start her transition fairly young, starting with her bottom surgery first. Then the world ended and she has been unable to finish her transition as all medical facilities have practically collapsed. Now most medical camps are limited to the basics and she relies on Mitchie's expeditions to hospitals to bring back HRT treatments for her. This complicates her life quite a bit and she struggles with both her identity and her self-confidence. She hates that Mitchie and Tristam have to do so much to take care of her and take so many risks.
