Link struggles against his opponent, mirroring its movements perfectly. His arms tiring, fatigue setting in his muscles, he plants his feet firmly in the ground, regaining his stance.
Sweat pours down his forehead and he deftly wipes it away with the side of his left hand, never taking his eyes off of his adversary. A swift jump to the left startles the boy; it caught him off guard.
Losing his footing, Link nearly lands face first in the pond, but catches himself just in time. This gives him just enough oomph to make his final move.
The boy pulls back one final time with a mighty scream and catches the fish in his left hand just as it zooms towards his face. He jumps up and down with the fish in one hand and the rod in the other. Excited, he runs to the man behind the counter to have his catch weighed.
Since the first time he set foot in the fishing pond, Link has wanted nothing other than to have his fish displayed in the trophy tank. The attendant scratches his head and stares blankly at the boy.
"What do you want?"
Smiling from ear to ear, link sets his fishing rod on the ground and lifts his catch as high as he possibly can, despite the fatigue.
"Let me see this thing," the attendant mutters as he yanks the fish out of the boy's hands.
"This fish is huge! It looks like a new record! It weighs at least 10 pounds! Seriously! Okay, here is your prize."
The attendant doesn't even look away from the fish as he reaches under the counter and grabs a small pouch of rupees, sliding them across the counter. His hand darts under the counter one more time, and this time he sets down a piece of paper and a stick of charcoal in front of Link.
"Please ​write your name here so I can spell it right when I put it on the trophy case."
