CelticRaiN![]() Profile to Profile | I JUST had mango. I am obsessed with Mango. Umm, as far as health, I had ALOT of people tell me my skin looked really healthy and vibrant when I was all vegan. I didn't notice at all, but it makes sense when you are just eating a lot of antioxidants from fruits and veggies. See, I was hardcore, I tried to cut down on empty carbs too. I ate things in as raw, or a basic form as you could get. Like, for example, instead of Cheerios (because they are processed) I ate straight grains (claimed on the package) like oatmeal and stuff. And I still think of meat as... kind of dirty? I can't explain it, it's just, anything that's not animal based (meat, eggs, dairy) doesn't necessarily have to be cooked to eat and you don't have to worry about salmonella and bacteria. They say there's always a possibility of parasites or whatever. But, yeah, it just felt good to eat stuff I knew I was making and wasn't from a package kinda thing. I really was eating healthier than I have ever eaten in my life. I wish I could keep that up, but like I said, soo hard. There are a few little places popping up where I live now , one is all vegan and al ot of other places offer vegetarian options, so it gets easier, depending where you live. If I had a personal chef I would probably never eat an animal product again. I just really enjoyed it. Having said all of that... after getting a blood test however, I found I was low in Iron, buut, I always low in Iron, even when I ate meat. So it didn't improve it in any way. Which, I worked my ass off to make sure I had all of the nutrients I needed. Like, eating or drinking something with Vitamin C to help absorb the Iron in the food I was eating. Now I just take the occasional Iron pill to help bolster my diet. I personally did it for the animals. Seeing one too many factory farming videos killed me inside. The health part was just a happy benefit. But... everyone has their reasons. So yeah... that was way more than what you asked XD ...now I'm hungry though. Must go eat! :P |

CelticRaiN![]() Profile to Profile | haha.. ok, I did message the right person. I'm a weirdo DX Anyway.. yeah, just asked because you were mentioning mostly plant based food items and such. I was vegan for about 5 months.. the reason, and only reason I'm not anymore is because I was making everything from scratch in order to eat healthy and it burned me out. I have dabbled in fish and a little bit of chicken since but still mostly maintain a virtually meat free diet. My daughter is too, so that is what really keeps me there! :) Anyway .. enjoying the pineapple by the way. I know someone else who would be obsessed with this too because she is a big cayenne user and loves pineapple. ;) |
