Ahhh I swear I need everything in this collection!
Gray squirrels are the plague here (even though this is actually a native species in the Sierras)…, quite literally ! The fuzzy tailed limb rats are testing positive for bubonic plague all around the Lake Tahoe area!

As a lover of eating fish, seeing the reminds me that I really want to try another invasive fish species (at least in North America), Asian carp (also known as Silverfin, Kentucky tuna, or Copi), someday.
I heard it tastes like cod with a texture that’s a mix between scallops and crabmeat, which is great, because I love frying cod to make beer battered fish tacos. I just have to make sure to be very mindful of the bones.

"invasive species" isn't a theme I'd have expected out of a monthly collection, but it's very well executed.

Only humans can destroy countless habitats and still have the hubris to think we're not invasive.

Super cool theme! The themes of these have been so different and refreshing lately haha.

I remember walking out of my office last summer and being swarmed by spotted lantern flies. They were everywhere! They are so invasive, it's taken them less than 10 years to spread out across so much of the northeast USA. Pretty to look at, but horrible to find!

Spotted lanternfly was spotted *oops a pun* last year in Iowa. I'm not happy about that but I love the dress....and the hair. Shoulda had a jar of garlic mustard pesto to represent how invasive garlic mustard is. its tasty though.

THE SPOTTED LANTERN FLY IS EATING MY GRANDMOTHER'S ROSES AND I AM FURIOUS. Other than that, I need the starling nest.

The Spotted Lanternmoth is one of my favorite moths. At least visually. I haven't lived around them so idk if they're my kind of invertebrate
