Ava was quite hesitant chatting with Artrius. She never got him still enough for long to have a conversation with. Artrius was hyper. He never moved with the natural neela grace. It was full speed ahead. As he matured he became faster. His running around the perimeter of the valley was disruptive. The neelas started calling him their demonic speed demon. Ava was very unhappy with this. Friends visiting Ava suggested Souchiix's Glade was the place for Artrius. Ava had heard about Souchiix's Glade Magik Forest.The Magik Forest played games with those pets who loved to run. The trees would move to to open up paths for those forest runners who loved to run impossibly fast on the magically appearing paths. It took 100% concentration and great skill to master the twisted pathways. Probably at peril to her life and limbs she managed to jump directly in front of him. Artrius was distracted but stared at Ava in disbelief. He was running and Ava was acting most peculiar she wanted to talk. Ava didnot waste any time, "Atrius you need to run where you are challenged. Here you have no challenge. I am not going to jump in front of you again to test your skill at avoiding me. There is the Magik Forest of Souchiix's Glade which challenges runners by changing pathways constantly as forest runners compete against each other to win races. Would you like to do this? I have a map...." Within the hour Artrius was on his way with his knapsack and map. He enjoyed traveling. He was ecstactic when he reached the plains. There he could run and run he did. Pets living near Souchiix's Glade were aware of Artrius coming by the bird alarm calls. Messengers were sent to Souchiix announcing the arrival of a fast moving blur. Souchiix positioned herself in plain view at a distance a fast moving pet would notice her and slow down. Artrius never was so exhilerated with speed. Never had he run so fast and for so long. When he saw the cliffs he started to slow down, Souchiix's Glade was on the other side of the jutting cliffs which left a narrow stretch of sand to traverse. Trotting along the sand he saw some one waiting for him. He came to a stop before her, cocked his head and in his velvety voice asked if this was Souchiix's Glade and did he have the honor of speaking to Souchiix?Souchiix was for a moment speechless. Artrius was magnificent poised to take off as the wind. Artrius was taken to The Lain Tree where all the day activites took place. Souchiix sent messengers to ask Aule and Celinix to come to the Lain Tree. Shortly two running forms approached the Lain Tree picnic area. Aule and Celinix were absolutely delighted to have another runner for the Magik Forest Games. And with nothing more said they left for the Magik Forest. Artrius was home. Ava thought of Artrius frequently. She felt badly she could not make Artrius happy in the valley. There should have been something she could have done. Not much time passed when a messenger from Centropolis arrived at the Sanctuary. It seems the need of communication between Centropolis and the Southern Continent needed to be improved. There was the embarrassing issue of a message being garbled delivered to an important Centropolis family leading them to believe their son had died on the Southern Continent. Unknowingly the son appeared one day at the family home with severe repercussions. A study was hurriedly done. The only solution was to use pets on the South Continent to carry messages to/from pets of the sea and for them to deliver/accept the messages to pets of the mainland. Ava knew Artrius would be the message carrying pet for the Southern Continent. Ava thought it possible Souchiix might suggest a water pet. There was a river bordering the glade which flowed in the sea.Ava made arrangements to travel to Souchiix's Glade. She signaled for Kronus Graveyard Paralix to land. Every few days Kronus flew over the Valley Sanctuary on his way to Shadowglen. Kronus flying over the valley saw the white flag. He landed far enough from the gentle neelas to not cause them to become skitterish. The most old of the neelas Vor Ava's constant companion joined Ava as Kronus moved towards Ava. Kronus had offered many times to fly Ava anywhere she needed to go but Ava was terrifed of flying. However the need was great to talk to Artrius. Ava took a bit of Valeriam for courage to get up on Kronus back. She closed her eyes the entire flight and only opened them when she felt Kronus moving on firm terra firme.
