I didn't see you there! Well, I mean, I did, but I thought I should say I didn't. It seemed like something that would fit the atmosfere. Atmosfeer? Atmosphere? I don't know! Language isn't my strong suit, math is. If you want to know the square root to 30928472, I'm the guy to ask. If you want to know whether i or e comes after x - well, you'd better go find my uncle! Unless that's an equation, but we don't usually use e's and i's in equations.

This format is silly! Why don't I just tell you about my past?

The Past

Estae

This is Estae. It's the place I was born, and it's also my great grandparent! Yeah, I knooooow. You don't get how a planet can be related to anyone. But that's because you're not from Estae!

Does this help? People usually get it better when they see a picture of its spirit form. Ae made the Sky Sisters, and the Sky Sisters made my dad. Or something like that. If I'm not explaining it right, it's probably because I don't really get it myself. The creation story gives me a headache.

Estae's a pretty cool place to live, though. There's all sorts of neat semi-magical species with Dragon heritage, such as the Syandar or the Fae, and the humans and animals are really special too. Lots of friends all over the place

Dad

This is my dad, Kalis. Dad is a god, a member of the lesser Estaerion pantheon made specifically to nurture and grow human intelligence and culture. From what I've picked up, Dad's pantheon was an experiment by Ae and the Sky Sisters to see if one animal could be made to rise above the others by divine interference. Free will is a hard thing to work around once given, but a dedicated pantheon seems to have done the trick. It helps to think macro instead of micro. Guide entire cultures and the species as a whole, leave individuals alone. At least I think that's a suitable workaround. Nothing crazy's come up yet (unless you count me ).

My Dad and his twin brother are the Knowledge Gods - Dad does numbers and Uncle Silak does letters. They're both rather broad disciplines, and they overlap occasionally, so I got to see Uncle Silak a lot when I was young. He's a really awesome guy and he tells the best stories. The other two in the pantheon are the Morality Gods - I didn't really see them much at all. There is no morality to maths, after all. I'm kinda glad, though. Uncle Chyr was nice enough when I saw him, but Uncle Ryr scares me.

Dad had a lot of power and a lot of responsibility. He gave all of it up so he and Mom could be together.

Mom

My Mom, Sina, is a faerie. The Fae as a species are descended from several different Dragons and as such have a lot of magic for a race of mortals - in most species with Dragon heritage the magic fades over time, but with the Fae it's growing gradually stronger. Most of the Fae's Dragon ancestors were the guardian spirits of various species of insect or flower, which explains the unnatural colours, sweet scents, antennae and wings - Mom has at least Spanish Bluebell and Bumblebee in her! To make their appearances even more confusing and variable, because of the high magic ability several younger members of the Fae have started demonstrating minor shapeshifting abilities!

As a mortal species becoming of their own accord more and more alike to Dragons and gods, the Fae are a really interesting case study for those interested in investigating the various degrees of godhood and what exactly divinity means on Estae

Uncle Silak would say it was poetic - Dad part of a project to demonstrate divinely inspired progress, Mom an example of progress with only the barest of divine involvement. Poetic or not it was, of course, love at first sight.

Mouse

So you're probably wondering how, if I'm from another planet and another universe entirely, I came to be here on Subeta. The answer is Mouse. Mouse is what is known as an 'extra-dimensional being' and by that I mean that no-one really knows too well what he is. He's the only true shapeshifter on Estae - even the gods have a true base form and some limits. Not Mouse. He could be anything he felt like, although he usually likes to stay invisible. You can tell it's him by the smell, though - cinnamon and freshly cut wood.

Mouse is a bit of a trickster. He's taken a liking to picking up mortals from the surface of Estae and flinging them about from universe to universe, just for fun and to see their reactions. It's a little upsetting actually, even if he seems a nice enough guy otherwise.

Don't get me wrong, he's never thrown me about. We have an understanding. No, I just like exploring way too much, and Mouse is happy to indulge my curiosity.
