Peka Glade's Botanist

A product of generations of Riverside environmentalists, Ernie was less than interested in politics and protesting. At the beginning of his career, he naively believed if the miners could see the beauty of the area, they’d rethink their impact. Now older, and a bit jaded, he understands this was never realistic. He’s decided instead to focus on making Peka Glade as beautiful as he can for as long as they have it. A brilliant morphologist and hybridist, he’s managed to revive many species thought to be on their last legs.

Ernie is known around the area for being a personable and welcoming teacher, encouraging student groups to visit during the Glades limited hours and giving them extensive tours. This welcoming nature led him to take in Mel after she was found mysteriously wandering in the mines, and his hiring of Everwood. Ernie has been known to be very dismissive of the town's gossip, often giving short answers when pestered about his wards.
