Her favorite flowers were daffodils, regardless of their color she loved all of them, and they filled our home almost all year long. I built her a hot house so she could always have them around, along with any other flowers she wanted.

Notes for me:
- Lives the life of a poor writer
- Falls madly in love with Catarine and eventually asks her to marry him
- Enlists in the army to get the money to give Catarine the life she deserves.
- Goes missing during a battle and is mistaken for dead
- Eventually comes back to their old house to find out that Catarine has moved on with her life
- While emotionally devastated, he wants Catarine to be happy and lets her continue thinking he's dead
- Eventually becomes a famous author where the main character is based off of Catarine.
- Grows daffodils to remind him of Catarine since they were here favorite flower.
- Moves to Sorrento, Italy where he sets the stories
- Completely changes his identity once he gets there to write the stories
- Catarine comes to Sorrento to get a better feel for the life of her favorite character and hopes to meet the author
- The two keep missing each other on their trips through town (i.e Catarine leaves a shop moments before Alberto enters)
- Later on Alberto gets hit by a cab that has Catarine inside
