Born as the daughter of Elrond and Celebrian, granddaughter of the great Galadriel and Celeborn, younger sister to the twins Elladan and Elrohir; I am Arwen Undómiel, and I had waited over 2700 years for him.

He appeared when he was 20 years old, but I did not reciprocate his feelings of love at first sight. It took another 30 years for me to recognize my feelings and be content with them. We plighted our troth then.

The stories mention little more than my name, and my beauty, and my lineage, and my husband. It does not bother me; I played a quiet part in his quest to aid the Fellowship of the Ring. I did what I could to help save Middle-Earth, but more directly, I did everything I could to keep him safe. I saw little point in a world without him; it is why I was willing to give away my immortality. But, as it turns out, he could not have gotten by without me, just as I could not have gone on without him. I was his encouragement, and he would not let the world be run over by evil if I was to live in it with him. There were times when I had to help him out in more than thought; when Frodo was injured, and when he did not know which path to take. But more often that not, I was merely the thought on his mind when he felt he could not go on. I was the Even-Star, shining in the dark, and there would be no light at all without me reflecting it to where it needs to go.

It is many years later now, and I do not anticipate my husband staying much longer. I know that I will not stay here without my King, and when he goes, I will too. My part has been played. My light has shone. I will blink out when it is my time. Why live forever when your love is gone?
