The sun shone weakly onto the frozen sea, causing the crystalline waves to shimmer as though they were still moving. The air was frigid and clear- the nearest humans lived many miles away. The only noise was the quiet gusts of wind and the deep cracking of the ice. The wind blew clouds of snow into the sky, and it was this which had coated the jollin's fur in diamond beads. Slowly padding across the ice the jollin edged towards Soulfinder and The Nightsteed, its tail twitching and swishing. It was strange for the jollin to see animals other than itself so far in the ice fields. The Nightsteed turned his head and looked at the jollin, then signalled to SoulFinder. At once, SoulFinder turned her face to the jollin and looked directly into its eyes. All noise disappeared as they stared at each other, as SoulFinder examined the jollin's essence. Finally, the silence was broken by one word. "Come" said the Soulfinder, and the jollin followed.
