Personality

Rannulf is a very protective older brother, even to his cousins...who are older than him...At work, he's polite, biting his tongue even when customers are exceedingly rude. But he can be rather sarcastic, especially when he gets home and can talk to Ashura and Elihue about work. Very intelligent, he would have gotten through university a lot faster if a) most of his money didn't go towards Faellan's medical bills and b) he'd allow his cousins to help him out more. He's the type to be on the edge of groups and parties, observing, which can make him seem antisocial at times. He's also the one in the family who tends to hold grudges.

Background

Orphaned at 16, Rannulf was alone with his kid brother for a few years, until his cousins finally found them again and took them in. While they never had to live on the streets, Rannulf did have to give up his scholarships for university so he could take on several part-time jobs. In the couple free hours he had between work, he would pick Faellan up from the one kind neighbour they had, a prostitute living in their shoddy apartment building, and spend time reading to him. It was only when Rannulf was 19 that Ashura and Elihue, their twin cousins, managed to find them again, and they were able to stay in a decent apartment. By that time, Faellan had developed health problems, his immune system weaker than it should be. It was decided that Faellan would be homeschooled by Elihue while Rannulf balanced part-time work and university.
