Background
Corina Nye was born the only daughter to a noble, wealthy couple. She was doted upon, praised and absolutely adorable by both of her parents who saw that she got everything she needed and anything she wanted. Spoiled rotten to the core she did not make many friends as a young girl when she attended a private academy. For a number of years this did not seem to bother her as she kept to herself and her pretty things, did her school work and then returned home to play with her dolls or ride one of the numerous horses her father had bought her. A social life with the other students did not begin until she was nearly twelve; that time when girls begin to notice the boys a bit more and count on their friends for company and for sharing secrets one can not tell their parents. Changing her spoiled ways was a challenge but she managed it and by the time she turned fifteen she'd completely changed.
Becoming popular became exceptional easy as Corina went in and out of her awkward young stage into a charming young teenager. Most of her freckles faded away (though they will still occasionally peek up when her skin is pale during the winter) into a lovely complexion, her long blonde hair took on a carefree wave and eyes of dark burgundy lightened a bit. It was here at the academy that she met two of her dearest friends, Bridgette and Georgette De Soto, though the sisters only attended the academy for one year before returning home to be schooled by their mother. This however did not stop their friendship and they would often spend time at each others homes during the summer when school was out and when they became young women often attended the same balls and functions. Corina was one of the first souls they told about their ideas of running away to escape the arrange marriages their father was making.
Corina was lucky, her parents never accepted the idea, and having fallen in love themselves they expected the same for their daughter eventually who had all the time in the world to find the man she would one day marry. The night the De Soto girls ran away they spent in the Nye home, thought neither Lord nor Lady knew as Corina had hidden her friends in one of the guest rooms and paid for servant's silence. She'd given them a bit more money to get started and wished them luck with exchanged promises that they would get in touch as soon as they could. The first letter would not arrive for a year and was addressed with false names but the contents were clear as she read them in private. This was how they would keep in touch until Lord and Lady Nye passed away leaving Corina the sole heir to the fortune.
Corina, known as Corset to the crew of the Dreamgear, never found the one man to love and marry and instead spent her life style as a courtesan, loving who ever she desired. She was often a popular companion to single lords to various balls and events and when she was not enjoying a social lifestyle showered with gifts, she took off with her friends aboard their airship. Back in the days when the Dreamgear was not so wealthy, it was Corset who funded their supplies and survival. Corset was also the designer of the Dreamgear's crest, a pair of wings set against a gear and marigold flower. The crew is often very happy to have the lady with them as she is the only one who can cook well.
