An Ancient Legend
With every discovery, something else is forgotten.
As technology advances in Raphtire, ancient knowledge begins to fade. Not even so called "immortals" are able to recall age-old legends.
Fiyon yawned, waking himself up from what was likely a very nice rest. He couldn't be sure how long he had been asleep, but it was safe to guess it was for more than a day. It wasn't unusual to sleep for prolonged periods of time, and his body made it evident that he wasn't quite ready to wake up as he was sluggish in sitting up. Once in an upright position, the dark-blue animal lazily studied his surroundings. It was nighttime, and the stars above him shined brightly in the clear sky. Their only true competition was the moon. The white and teal markings on Fiyon seemed to have a similar glow to the stars, even appearing to move ever so slightly along his back. Despite the beauty of it all, the scenery did not interest Fiyon much. He yawned again and flopped over onto his side, waiting to drift off once more.
This place that Fiyon rested in was not in the slightest way peaceful, despite the tranquil appearance. The land, known as Outer Land, was full of savage, bloodthirsty creatures. The area Fiyon rested in was mostly void of these anima due to one simple fact. On the other side of the grassy hill Fiyon rested on, was one of the most feared places in Outer Land.
Only a fool would wander into the valley. Unfortunately, this was more common than one would think, due to the lack of intellegence in most of Outer Land's native anima. Wild animals was all they are, therefore were no smarter. They could be compared to lost dogs, that wander wherever there's land to tread on. Sometimes one is foolish to wander into this valley. Afterwords, they're never seen hunting down another feral anima again.
A threatening roar suddenly erupted from this valley, a terrifying sound that could be easily heard for several miles all around. The horrific noise jerked Fiyon onto his feet, and he instinctively snarled a response. He knew where the roar came from, and he refused to turn around to confirm this. This was a part of his past that he never wanted to remember, but it was to haunt him for perhaps the rest of his life. As long as he remained near his birth place, this valley, he would forever be reminded of his origins.
"I'll never go back... I'll never go back!"
In that moment, an overwhelming desperation flowed through Fiyon's veins like he had never felt before. He would later find this to be known as 'coming to his wits end', but in that moment all he knew is that he needed to flee. His will to survive would no longer allow him to stay in this place, so he ran. For how long, Fiyon wasn't sure. All he knew was that he saw the sun rise and fall several times as he fled away from the Valley of Skulls.
He wouldn't stop running for days, in which he only came to a halt when he ran himself ragged. His paws were sore and even cut in some places, and Fiyon panted heavily to regain his breath. Where was he now? His nostrils flared as he took in the scent of his surroundings. He needed to get an idea of where he was, and fast. Should he linger here for too long, he would be in danger. He shook his head at the salty scent he was taking in. It confused him, being unlike anything he smelled before.
Fiyon forced himself to move forward towards the pecuiliar scent. It wasn't long before he emerged from the tree line. He winced as his cut paws walked onto rocky sand, but he continued to move forward. Before him now was something he never seen before. It was a body of water like no other, which he would later come to learn as being the ocean. Where was he to go from here now? Fiyon glanced over his shoulder briefly, frowning at the sight of the dense forest he emergred from moments prior. He knew exactly where he didn't want to go. Perhaps... yes. He would cross this massive body of water.
Fiyon briefly sat and balanced himself onto his backlegs. Using his forepaws, he fumbled with the tag that was attached to a white collar he wore. The gold tag fell to the ground, which Fiyon wasted no time in picking up with his paws. He stared at it with intense concentration, focusing his remaing energy into it. The tag began to glow, gradually growing into a glowing disc that was big enough for him to perch on. He felt his energy draining from him since he had not rested for days. Fiyon knew that he needed to keep moving if he was going to escape this hell of a land he lived in. He clumsily clambered onto the disc, and before he was even situated, the disc propelled itself into the air. Fiyon bared his claws as he desperately clinged to this unstable method of transportation.
He was determined to fly over the ocean, towards lands he had only heard rumors about. Lands where anima of all sorts lived among one another in peace; where they didn't kill each other at every opportune moment. He wanted to live such a life; never having to take another life ever again for his own survival. Did such a place even exist? He was going to find out, even if that meant he died trying.
One of these legends, is the legend of two of Raphtire's oldest creatures.
The beasts of day, known as Belrons, and then...
The Star Kings
Name: Fiyon, although referred to as "Fido" by some
Age: Aprox. 25
Height: 3'2" on all fours, 4'5" when standing upright. (quad)
Sex: Intersex
Gender: Male
Species: Star King
Location: Previously Outer Land, currently somewhere in North Genobia
Personality
For a semi-feral anima, Fiyon is extremely docile. This is partially because he spends most of his time asleep. He's known to fall asleep randomly in extremely inconvienent places, which sometimes puts him in a great deal of danger. Attempting to provoke him awake will result in him lashing out and biting. This isn't aggression for the most part, but merely self defence mixed with confusion. Outer Land is a savage land where the weak are taken advantage of, and due to this place being Fiyon's birthplace, he has yet to grow out of his overly defensive nature.
While Fiyon is natually carnivorous, he refuses to consume meat of any sort. He claims that the taste of meat makes him physically ill, while in fact he's doing whatever he can to abandon his feral nature. Becoming a vegetarian hasn't been much of a difficult task for him, Fiyon quite enjoys eating fruits and vegetables. Fiyon's attempts to transition from a feral beast to a domestic anima have left him giving off the aura of a pushover, but he's far from one. His appearance is deceptive to how Fiyon behaves as far as animalistic nature. Like his dragon relatives, he can be aggressively possessive of gold. Once he decides he likes something materialistic, the chances of retrieving it from him are null.
Appearance
Fiyon looks nothing like a true Star King. Instead, he looks more like a Hundir from Raphtire, with a very canine-like stature. His fur is notably long, much longer compared to most other canines. On his muzzle, ears, and down his back and tail are white and teal "starry" markings, which at times appear to be moving. Ears the size of his head are usually relaxed at an angle behind his head, however they can easily perk up or lay down to express Fiyon's alertness or mood. His muzzle is short and has an unusually colored teal nose, teal pawpads, as well as light pink eyes. Two teal-colored spikes are at the base of his tail, as well as a small pair of teal and white wings. Although he's able to flap and flex his wings, they're completely useless for flying. Around his neck is a white collar, with a gold, circular "tag" fixed on the front. This tag can detach from the collar, and grow into a large glowing disc that Fiyon can ride on.
A normal Star King is said to have a much more beastly appearance. They're described as massive, beastly dragons that were larger than buildings. Most of their teeth petruded from their mouth, and they were known to have several spikes going along their backs and shoulders. They were heavyset dragons, with the same agility as a crocodile or alligator on land. Today, nobody knows what has become of Star Kings, and are assumably extinct.
Human Appearance
Fiyon has caramel colored skin with dark freckles on the bridge of his nose. His teal colored hair is long, reaching to the middle of his back and is messily kept. Most of the time he wears long sleeves and pants, usually preferring to stick to blue or green hues. He stands around five foot three inches and appears androgynous, leaning more towards feminine as far as overall appearance.
