An Exiled Soul

Tarnished blood flows through my veins . . .

I am Diskra, unfortunate son of Railia. But I am nothing like my father, and please, don't expect me to be. I do not hate him, however, and it pains me to say so. I suppose it's because he is the only reason I am here today. I'm not thanking him though.

When I was born to my mother, a beautiful common paralix, she was shocked to see me the way I was. One would have expected the red fur or scales of my mother or father, but I was born with muddy brown fur. I had strange, curling markings all over my body, that my mother had no equal to. My horns were not strait, but curled like a ram's. I was so strange that the other members of my home banished me by throwing me into the ocean. My mother exiled herself, and has lived on the shores ever since.

They thought they'd killed me, but I found that my body was perfectly adept to the ocean. It was much more comfortable than the land. I still had to come up for breaths, but I could hold it for up to an hour. I was happy here.

Soon, I heard from people coming to swim in the ocean that there was a war brewing, and my father was the cause of it all. I was so angry and ashamed that I knew I had to do something. And so, my journey began.
