Haydin was born into a noble family living in the Sacred Lands. He has lived in the same manor his whole life with his adopted younger brother, Harm. His parents weren't around much, often out on business trips and the like. Haydin therefore spent a lot of time with Harm, acting as a father figure to him. He worried a lot for his brother, who was never a happy person, even as a child.

While out at the market one day, Haydin met a young noble named Gotye. Gotye took a sudden interest in Haydin, and they began to converse. Haydin learned that Gotye's family had died recently, and that he was living all alone in his manor, hardly taking care of himself. Haydin felt sorrowful at once, and his savior complex took over as he invited Gotye to stay with his family for at least the time being.

Haydin couldn't stand Gotye after a while, realizing what an arrogant prick the other was, and was close to throwing him out. However, when he learned of the relationship between his brother and Gotye, and had to reconsider. He didn't want to risk his brother's happiness for his own sake, and he agreed to let Gotye stay with them.

Harm came to Haydin one night, telling him of his engagement to Gotye. Haydin realized how nervous Harm was to tell him, like he was afraid of what Haydin would think. Haydin assured Harm that he was happy for him, and that he gives Gotye his blessing. Despite this, Haydin's rivalry with Gotye would continue.
