In Their Own Words: [Trelaina] from [Starblazers: Comet Empire aka Battleship Yamato]
My inspiration came from memory of this TV series. I recalled Trelaina and her sacrifice for the Argo (english name of the Yamato). I was 8 when I first saw it and I remember crying not only because she had died,(or so I thought at the time) but because of why she had done so. She had used her vast power to save the Argo because she saw that there was something beautiful in humanity and that it was worth saving. She returns later on and makes a speech in which she expresses this sentiment in one of the better speeches of the series - In many ways the second season of Starblazers is superior to the first season for it's messages about love, sacrifice and war.
