In Their Own Words: Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon.
Hiccup is a young Viking from Berk who is not like the others, which is probably the reason why I like him. He's not strong enough to wield any of the weaponry; however, he is smart enough to create his own. He brings down a Night Fury (one of the most dangerous Dragons in all of Berk) and his big heart won't let him kill the beast even though it would win him fame / respect. He eventually befriends the Night Fury, naming it Toothless, and learns that Dragons aren't all bad. He becomes the first Dragon Rider of Berk and teaches the other Vikings that they can coexist with the Dragons.
