The Lone Tree

By: Vinnie Vandegoff

Medium: Oil on canvas

Vinnie Vandegoff was particularly obsessed with trees - the deader the better. This painting depicts his love affair with a lone tree above his home town. It's possible he believed the dying tree reflected the transience of life, how we are all struggling but still live on, without even the lush green leaves of life to enrich us.
