For those looking to change their username or purchase more pet slots:
Go to "your pets" page and click the Buy More? option near the top to buy a pet slot.
Or select "Change Name" from a pet's drop down list to change the name.
To change your username: select "Site Preferences" from the Personal tab. You'll see your username and the (Change Username) option.

@Venom - you now buy pet slots by going to your pet page (the summary page that shows all of them) and at the top, there's a button to buy more. They don't sell the magical plushies or whatever anymore.
