Chibi Pet Revamps!
Whilst you may think that your endless sneezing this time of year is hay-fever related, you may actually be the victim of the chibi ghostly\'s latest prank. Not that you\'d ever know for sure if it was them with their brand new look! They\'d likely blame it on the freshly updated chibi hipottu, who wouldn\'t have a clue what was going on, and probably cry until you forgot what you were even mad about, anyway.

Aww, these revamps are beautiful! Really, they are! ^_^ But...I don't know. I just don't like how the Chibi Ghostly is no longer carrying that massive axe around. It was my favorite feature of the pet. The axe is, actually, why I had created one for myself. I'm disappointed that it's no longer there. The Ghostly just doesn't look the same, I'm sorry. It seems to be missing character now...D:
The axe was removed because it was a prop that was inconsistent with the species and the chibi color itself. It actually took years to revamp this because there was a very long debate about removing or keeping the axe, removing the axe and keeping the same pose, changing the pose altogether etc etc. I would revisit it every year to tackle it and never got far. It was finally decided and I pushed it this year, knowing it would make some people unhappy because the axe was a unique feature. Sorry, guys! If it makes anyone feel any better, the decision wasn't made lightly.
Not wild about the new Ghostly. Without the axe it looks too much like Casper in a coat.... Love everything about the new Hipottu except the feet. They've lost that hippo look that made the tiny wings so ridiculously adorable.
((Maybe they could just edit it to have the ax lying on the floor behind him, that way they don't have to redraw it, and we get the ax..?))
The art is so well handled, and I like the freaky innocence in the ghostly <3, it's almost precious looking. The hippotu is going to have to grow on me. I can't quite place why I'm not a fan, but it may just be that I'm kind of meh on the hippotu in general. The art really is lovely though.
I am incredibly disappointed with the chibi ghostly. :( In that 'what are you afraid of getting revamped?' thread, I actually said I was afraid of the chibi ghostly getting revamped specifically because I was afraid they'd take away his axe. And now they have. I own one because it had that axe, which was a unique feature that gave that pet a special charm and personality. This new trend of artists completely changing poses/taking away unique objects in revamps has me now feeling worried about things getting revamped, instead of having me looking forward to revamps. I just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter as a customer and user. The artwork is quite good (lineart/shading, etc), but that new pose and loss of axe...
They look like they're doing inappropriate things with their hands... especially with the facial expressions. Now you cannot unsee.
The hippo is realy cute. I liked the smile and the concept of the old ghostly more. It's a different typ of character now.
I don't see any difference in the old ghostly and the new one o__o; I must be blind. The chibi Hippotu is to die for however, awesome job.
None of the Ghostly's has an axe or any other item in hand unless it is part of their color to begin with (halo on Angelic for example) so removing the axe from the old Chibi was just logical.

The ghostly looks too different. :( I know the axe is a really big part of some people's character designs. The hippopotu is super cute but i miss the "kawaii" look of the old wings.
I was really worried about the Ghostly update because I loved it before, but this turned out adorably! I don't even mind how different it is from the one before because that smile is just too precious.

Aww, I love the ghostly's pose. He looks like a 3-year-old who just did something mischievous and is feeling smug. :)
The Ghostly looks much too innocent to me. I liked the more mischievous look the original had.

I really really really miss the axe though. :(
But I understand it needed it a revamp, I just wish he kept his axe.

The ghostly is so sickeningly cute I honestly think I am going to vomit (sad to say that Missa may change from one in the future, but that is 100% story related).

I'm kinda sad the axe is gone... my chibi ghostly name means "I didn't do it" and he have a decapitated puppy as a minion. Without the axe, it lost the meaning. :(
Ah, it just changed in the announcement. When I looked, the Ghostly had the old art still. Thought I was crazy. XP I like the new one!
