sMail Phishing: Part Two
Sorry for the news spam, everyone, but I thought this was important enough since people who\'d already checked the news wouldn\'t get a new notification about an edit!
In addition to changing your password and setting up a PIN, if you think you may have been compromised by the phishing sMail, you should run a malware/virus scan on your computer! It seems the phishing website may be able to install malware on your computer!

Think I may have gotten one of these mails...I received a smail from a username I do not recognise, I clicked on it but the message had disappeared, so I didn't actually read it and the person no longer exists so...kinda confused :/

Thank you for telling us this Subeta. I'm just curious though. I have this addon from Firefox called WOT or Web Of Trust and I wonder if the link will show a red circle next to it, because whenever its a link attached to phishing, viruses or malware a red circle appears as a warning to stay away. I don't know if this addon would work here on Subeta Smail or not.

EEH, thankfully i self banned from the forums, so unless the users on my friends list get hacked or the hackers reading this post send me the smail, i'll be safe.
However this comes weeks after my email account used for work/banking got hacked and after i found some trojans on my PC. Guys, you better perform a boot scan. My regular scan found nothing, but my boot scan found 3 infected files.
The hackers only send a spam mail to everyone i ever talked to, including clients. >.> but good luck at finding out my current password and i never stay logged in anymore.

When reading through topics I've noticed a few people are frozen :( I hope it's nothing related to this.. Stay safe everyone!

My big scan and analysis finally finished, and there does not appear to be a trojan, keylogger, cookie grabber, or any other kind of "top-tier" malware. However, malware is still malware, and I can only speak for my own results, ultimately.

@grelca: Huh. How weird. o__o
Good to know since I hadn't been in the forums much tonight.

A few people actually did find malware (just not the people commenting on this news post, but people posting on the topic in P&B), which is what prompted this!

From what I can tell, there wasn't any malware on the page, though my scan isn't done yet (went for the thorough one heh) so it might not have found anything yet. (Though since no one else found anything, there probably isn't. Never hurts to be too careful, though.)

I ran tests and haven't found anything either so far, thankfully. You guys rock for caring so much about your userbase.

Oh lovely! Malware to boot! Loads of fun to get off your computer! /scarcasm.
I don't think many, if any of us will mind you posting this Grelca.
Besides, I think we were all due for a "Reminder, don't give out your password" new feed x3

This is AWFUL! I'm thankful that I didn't get that sMail, but I still feel paranoid! *shifty eyes*

My heart goes out to those who had their accounts compromised, and then used to scam others. I got the sMail and clicked the link, but no sign of malware or account access. I was lucky!

Definitely worth the part two. My own virus checker hasn't found anything yet, but I guess we'll see.

Thank you for putting this info out there. I was afraid not enough people were going to see this part of it!
