For Sure Not Friendly: Possessor Liara
I am, of course, speaking of the goddess, Shinwa. Too long has this self-styled goddess perched up in her temple, doing nothing to better the lives of the peasa—people she has tricked into worshipping her. I aim to correct this.
Thanks to the efforts of several creative volunteers, and people who support their Princess’s return to her throne, I am now ready to peacefully reclaim my birthright. Certainly, if Shinwa has any sense or compassion, she will graciously vacate the premises and cede the land back to me. No one needs to be hurt, nor will they provided they comply.
Of course, if she refuses to leave quietly, it might not go well for her. I would hate for such an outcome to occur! Now, I am aware there are some terrible rumors swirling about me and my volunteers, crazy tales of “possessions” and violent amalgamations. I can only assure you that they are all false and slanderous ramblings, no doubt spread by Shinwa’s acolytes. No one did anything they didn’t want to, any influence I had was… minor, at best. So! With all that said, I shall now proceed to Saherimos.
And should …certain people… try to delay my return, I will show them a mere fraction of what I have prepared for Shinwa. Consider this your last friendly warning, my dear future subjects.”

I have a few plot texts saved also, mostly Skelly related, so you're in good company ;) Since the Subeta lore covers 17+ years it's tough to keep up with all the storylines, so I really appreciate you and others who keep records and share your knowledge/theories. It makes the experience so much more rich! Subeta Historian/Archivist sounds kinda like a dream job if you ask me. It also sounds like Darkheart's subetapedia character profile needs some updates (and is it just me.. or does Euclid not have a page...? hmm...) anyway, a nice distraction from the real-life history going on... @CydcieDahlre My main lore specialty is Jack Cardale and the SAI, and since Darkheart founded the SAI before... whatever happened to him happened, I usually pay attention to him and characters he attaches to. The lore event was the 2017 Lumi Melody kidnapping that Darkheart does annually, it wasn't a whole plot unfortunately, though Frystgaard was a battle challenger at that time. As you can see below, it looks like Darkheart has changed his ways, and I can't imagine Liara having a lot of use for him the way he is now. It's possible that their breakup was the reason he ended up the way he did or at least happened beforehand, because otherwise she surely would have looked for him.

@Flame thanks for the lead toward Frystgaard and Darkheart! Do you remember when that happened? I think I missed that plot event. After posting my comments the other day, I went down a plot rabbithole and couldn't find anything more current about Darkheart than that subetapedia entry (and his occasional Lumi appearances), and the other wikis have the same info. Needless to say, I'm excited to learn more about Liara and Shinwa and how everything connects :)
I'm also more interested in the Oracle now, and how her role as a watcher of the watcher will play into the drama.

@CydcieDahlre she was dating the Darkheart Phantom at one point, I don't think they're still together since *something* happened to him and he ended up "broken and alone" in the frozen wastes and was adopted by Fyrstgaard and the Fyrst clan, who saw he actually had a good heart. But his bio has some info on her, there's not much as her plot was further back than the archives go.
"Darkheart's hatred soon grew into a vendetta and he did everything in his power to attack the forces of good, beginning by allying himself with Maleria. He soon began leading raids into the Sacred Lands, attacking such landmarks as Shinwa's Temple and the Oracles shrine. I'm probably in a minority here but I love it when key characters are based on pets. I've always given my pets stories where they are articulate, intelligent creatures so having offical characters that support this idea is wonderful. I'm also curious to know where this will go and if we'll see her in later plots. Shinwa could use some more development as she hasn't really been seen since the Islander's plot and I can't remember any reaction to the escape of the Seawitch. Though, to be fair, she might have reserved that reaction for Saggitarius and Blake.
The art is amazing. There's so much character to the design and the colours are beautiful. I love the story angle which includes the strange powers of the Kora. All in all this is a magnificent creation. I think she'd be quite pleased. :)

I have no particular attachment to Shinwa, but I'm also not totally onboard with takeover by someone who uses people as pawns and forces them to do things against their will, and I'm a little alarmed by how many people are down with that just because they're not Shinwa fans and her design is very pretty. I think I'm on team 'put them both on house arrest together'. Leave Sacred Lands in the care of the Wizard, we all know he's the best character there anyway.

I totally read it as Professor Liara at first LOL this seems like an awesome twist coming up, I can't wait to see what's in store! We probably should have had an event with Shinwa as the hero recently, before Liara, to build empathy and support for Shinwa... because I'm also thinking Shinwa hasn't gotten my attention lately and I'm all for seeing what Liara has to bring, even after all these possessions. Shinwa may be ~peaceful~ but she be ~boring~ too, so sorry gal pal! Shinwa better have some compelling plot material for us. :)

It's alright, I knew it wasn't That Deep. I wanted to throw in my 1 cent. I love a good reading, but what Liara says here is less of a read and more... Honestly, bullshit with some decent insults thrown at a character people seem to love to hate. If Shinwa said anything similar to this people would be making petitions to get the dictator removed from the site ASAP and question staffs morals.
I personally loved Shinwa's revamp. But the hate from users towards her has been there since the start and just increased when she got revamped (a deer anime wife with fantasy anatomy was lost QoQ).
I do think the site needs to make it clear she isn't an actual God character, and just simply very powerful even in her bound-prisoner state. And maybe give her a therapist. And update the text for her quests to include that she doesn't actually lose the bracelets.
I honestly see her like Subeta's version of thor in a way. Except people look past his flaws because they want to climb him. And now I cannot think any further because of Chris Hemsworth.

@Holden Yep, one of the worst thing you can do in trying to compare Subeta to real world. Just take a look at Survival/The Great pandemic lore page, it is a huge train wreck if it goes by real world logic. Subeta is like that middle class white kid in your class that is nice and want to be more open minded, but this kid simply have not talked to a lot of people from different minority groups. Also that kid is trying to make some inclusive fan fiction and see different races as different personality traits.

Was mostly comparing the feeling of elation one gets watching that movie when someone you're rooting for suddenly stands up and states their anger. And despite any of this... Is Shinwa even really the ruler of Sacred sands? I thought she was confined in her temple for some cosmic war crimes and people only start worshipping her as a goddess because she is an incredibly powerful magic user. Overtime, she get involved more and more with Subetean lore beyond keeping Maleria in check. For most of her time, she just stick on serving her sentence, but will intervene and punish some not. And going by Liara's battle loot descriptions, Liara is the official ruler of Sacred Sand and co-exist with Shiwa until she orchestrated an attack and exiled as a result.

However, I can say for most of the Sand Spirits, this whole "Exalted Conservator of the Saheric Dunes" nonsense? Yeah, no, she's not conserved ANY dunes or any part of the desert except villages. If anyone 'conserves' the dunes and wild sands, it's us Sand Spirits and the wild creatures living there.
Anyways, have fun with your oversized Feli-fight Liara and Shinwa.

She is gorgeous and it doesn't really matter to me if she's identical to her plushie/beanbag or not. She's too hard for me to fight since my highest pet is only tier 9, but goox luck to those with pets strong enough to defeat her!

I always thought Liara became Maleria as they look similar and names are similar and if you read the description of the plushie it sounds like Malaria's beginnings

Oh, I thought she was an Ontra, but then again that plushie was all we really had to go by and the details weren't really clear because of the small image. I wonder if it's been revamped.

I never was a fan of Shinwa, way back ever since the Islanders v Pirate plot years and years ago. Though that does remind me of the awesome water balloon throwing we got to do for that event--I would love to see that come back!
