This is a huge problem that the authorities are looking into solving...but for the time being, please keep your big hairy cats out of direct sunlight.

It's nice..It does look a bit canine, but so did the bloodred one. Maybe archans are supposed to look that way? You can never be really sure. It is a fantasy site, after all. That being said the whole genneral facial region could use work. I tend to keep quiet about these things, people tend to whine excessively so I figured I needn't add to the flames. However, the face could stand to have some work. The mouth has been critted to dead, so I'll leave that out. What bugs me is the ears. The lower jaw seems to be off.. or too small for its own mouth. Maybe extend the left side of its mouth (his right, our left) a bit more and it'll even it out?

The head almost looks canine. I was holding onto my reborn potion specifically for my archan -- you can see I used it, but I was really disappointed. This is the first reborn pet that I've really disliked.
I think I'd have to agree with all the others about the head. While it does look cute, I think I'm just gonna save up for that Angelic Potion that Phoenix_Cassie wants instead.

wow I've been waiting for the reborn archan ever since they came out and I'm sad to say I don't like it. The head and ears are just really off and the mane looks like it ends under the ears. It's definetly not at all what I was hoping for.

Oh, very good. I love the body and the flames. The head... well, I have to agree with what others have pointed out as far as floppy ears and a rather un-archan-like look to it... I hope those things will get a makeover, but either way it's a for-sure must have! Now I just need to save up lots and lots of sP for mystical plushies, because I couldn't bear to part with any of my other pets.

It's a grat start for the reborn archan, but the face looks kind of like a dog. Also the face has such a bold outline compared to the mane that it almost makes the face look like it's floating in front of the mane. The top of the mane needs to be bigger and the whole mane needs a bolder outline - or soften the facial lines. I like the flameies around it.

RightSaidFred, that's a bit harsh. First of all, if anyone here could do better, than subeta should hire them. As well, as a graphic for a semi-professional site, it should be as perfect as possible. We aren't saying it's bad, we're giving constructive criticism. As an artist myself (and not a terrible one, though not great) I would rather hear constructive criticism than "omg, this is the bestest image evar". I like a lot of things about this image, from the concept, to some of the execution. However, there are some anatomical problems, and so I, and others, have pointed them out in a constructive matter. There's nothing wrong with that.

I agree with some of the other commenters when they say a few things are off -- some proportions, the face, tail, etc. But besides that, I love the whole design (in general). Now to decide if I should change my hikei or not X_X

Love the concept, but not what I was personally hoping for with the reborn Archan. I agree largely with some of the other posters. The face looks kind of strange. Maybe the anatomy on the ears is off? I also think some of the other facial anatomy is off. I agree that the poor thing looks a little bald, perhaps that's why it's so angry? Something strange about the tail, although unfortunately I can't quite place it. I also kind of agree with the person who said it looks like the body "shrinks" as it goes up. Although I'd phrase it as it looks like the artist was using a weird perspective, as if the "camera" were down on the floor, so that the feet (being closer) looked larger, which the body (being farther) looked smaller.
Well, I was going to leave my Archan common, 'cause I liked that colour best, and just sell my reborn potion. But now....hmmmm....I'll likely end up with a reborn Archan. Beautiful. Sure a few little problems like others have mentioned, but the overall look is great!

I love the overall look, but I must agree that something does seem off with the face/head. It kind of reminds me of one of my mom's dogs trying it's hardest to bite at the fleas on it's shoulder...in this case the Archan looks like he's trying to bite at the flames of his mane. But overall I think the artist did a fantastic job, it actually made me consider getting one myself even though I'm not a big fan of Archans.

The jaw looks like it was knocked out of joint to the animal's right (viewer's left) and the flaming mane, while a really cool idea, leaves the head looking somewhat bald. Perhaps if the flames started from further forward on the forehead? The ears also look a bit long. I also think the tuft on the tail should entirely be flame, not partially.
However, the paws are awesome, as is the attitude the archan seems to give off.
As far as the dragon, I wasn't thrilled with him either, and ended up changing my dragon into a Magnus... and I changed my dragarth to a clawsion because I didn't like the new version of that, either... but this isn't the dragon or dragarth news posts, so they shouldn't be discussed here. I never bring up unrelated pets in a discussion of a revamp, whether I like them or not.

However, I do think the newer version is an improvement on it... I'm not opening a discussion on the Ontra here, just merely using that as an example. A lot of people like the Ontra... A lot of people like a lot of the revamps... at the same time, a lot of people don't. People are rarely unanimous about anything, especially the demographic a website like this attracts (namely, teenagers, who are notoriously picky about things...). However, using emotionally descriptive words that are more opinions and relative to the individual's tastes, like 'hideous', isn't constructive criticism.

I agree with the other users who seem to think the face is a little off. If the face were a bit more angular, a little less fluffy, and the ears not quite so large, I think I would like it much better.
Also, I think the flames coming from it's head (should I call them antennae? x] ) are a bit too curled, and take away from the overall picture. Perhaps if they were longer (like the fire on the RB demi, for instance, though a bit more detailed, of course) and a bit more elegant? The bits of curled flame on it's tail and right foot also bother me a bit.
Overall, I think it's gorgeous. The fur on it's chest looks like volcanic lava, and whether this was intentional or not, I love it. :'D

Also, I think the flames coming from it's head (should I call them antennae? x] ) are a bit too curled, and take away from the overall picture. Perhaps if they were longer (like the fire on the RB demi, for instance, though a bit more detailed, of course) and a bit more elegant? The bits of curled flame on it's tail and right foot also bother me a bit.
Overall, I think it's gorgeous. The fur on it's chest looks like volcanic lava, and whether this was intentional or not, I love it. :'D

I think his mane is off, not as flamboyant and wild as you'd expect. That's what throws me off but the body is gorgous. I'll have to decide if i want to transform one of my other pets into another archan lol

Constructive criticism? It's decent. It doesn't really live up to the reborn standards I've seen on the site since I started, though. Most of the reborn versions still have a huge resemblance to the base pet, but this one doesn't, except in the torso. That could probably be fixed with repositioning. The head is darker than the rest of the body and tilted at an odd angle, and for some reason the ears make it look like a puppy face instead of an archan one. But that's the only real issue I see =)

You draw more flies with honey, as they say. We know what is expected of us, but sometimes artists are more inclined to do it quicker and more happily if they are anxious to please someone. I like the body/pose and coloring on this one a lot, but I agree that the face and (especially) the ears look a little off; other people have pointed out the specifics, though, so I won't repeat them. XD The spine/back seems a little crooked, too, now that I look at it. The fiery tail is pretty rockin', though, and I love those deep blue eyes. .o. It's not quite as sexy as the Bloodred, but alas, that's a hard standard to live up to... XD
looney, there is no way any of us can ever be confident in the pet image. i adored the old tigrean, it was my favorite pet by far, and now look what's happened to it. make the risk or don't, but don't ever expect anything as fluid as subeta art not to get revamped down teh road. today tomorrow next year, no images stick. things stay interesting that way (points to the rock paper scissors enemy) not always a bad thing grins

I highly doubt there has ever been a pet that EVERY PERSON liked. Artists go with the majority when it comes to revamps, and polls, and whatnot. You cant please everyone, theres always going to be someone who doest like it, no matter how many times they change it.

It's not a change people are wanting, Looney, it's just a fix for the awkwardness of the face and head. ...For the most part anyways, some people might want an overall revamp, but I'd just like to see it tweaked a little to improve it.

No, I never liked any of her work to begin with, so that doesn't quite work, does it? I critique every pet she brings out because I feel that the art isn't up to par. I critique other pets as well, so don't think I'm playing favorites here, either. Her work has lots of flaws in it, the pets and characters and any art she delivers has, in my opinion, issues with it, and why am I not allowed to deliver critique on it? Am I to be told I cannot do that? Because it seems every time I try to, I get some snappy remark in return.

The only thing that throws this off for me is the lower jaw. It seems a little crooked (which could probably be fixed by widening it a bit on the left). Other than that, it's very nicely done.

Oh. So, this is it, yes? I'm not saying it's bad, it's just really not what I expected and I don't like it. I'm not saying the artist did a bad job (even though imho there are better Reborn pets out there), but I was really looking forward to this Archan color and... no, won't be getting that one. It's one of the better Archan colors, so far. I like the colors chosen for it. But it seems that the face isn't consistent with the other Archans, just as the other 'special' colors have been. Mm... A few helpful criticisms mayhap? Make the ears a little less floppy looking, a little more solid like the other archan colors... The left (the pet's left, our right) antenna-flowy fire there could be solidified a bit or made to look a little more obvious like the other one... fix the jaw and maybe widen the nose a touch, just a little, but the jaw looks like it doesn't really connect with the left (our left) side of it's face well. It is lovely, but something seems, off somehow. There is a lack of subtleness, where some of the flames seem wispy, and some not, and the body/mane is too bold or is it the flames aren't bold enough? It just seems too stark a contrast.

You think so rain? I'm not liking the new pets art much. Not my cup of tea. Flame stuff kind of looks like ramen noodles. My favorite is the reborn malticorn, the flames are just flowy and almost opaque without being so. I wish they'd all be in a more flowy style, some of them are too rigid.

I think the paws look... hideous, really. Like they were thrown together at the last minute. Those claws look really out of place on the pet... and I think the mane should at least be bushier. It makes the head look out of place on the body. Also... I don't know what it is about the fire around it, but it looks...odd. Not like a lot of the other Reborn pets and the fire you find on them.
