Been avoiding the topic, but I just read the story. I liked it and thought it was well written. Good graphic imagery.
I won't say anymore as I will get pissed off with people and wouldn't like to criticise other pets, Squeak.

So we are gonna bitch about everything are we? Well, the next pretty pet that involves loving cupcakes and rainbows will make me want to vomit and I will bitch about it then. The story wasn't bad, people just enjoy different things. There are nicer ways to get your opinion across... there was a warning afterall. If it isn't your cup of tea, Jeebus forbid. I enjoyed it, good job Hearse.

The story in itself is badly written. I am disgusted that the staff chose it due to the story that said person tried to tell. It is offensive to many and sickening to others with weak stomachs. To many variables makes it a loose cannon.

I know hearse personally, and honestly, it was a mistake, as i know he had something up at one point. as it got transferred it probably was removed for whatever reason.

Sorry for the blank comment. But people have to understand why some people are upset with this. We understand it is not the staffs fault really, but still it is upsetting when there are those of us who really worked hard on our own pets and have been waiting every day to see if we might win. So when something like this happens, I feel that we are allowed to express our disappointment. Doesn't mean I am pissed at the staff, just that I hope they fix it soon.

Once pets get accepted into the queue they are not re-checked. There is far too many pets. There is a disable button that will allow the owner to take off the nomination. The owner should have done this especially since they temporarily adopted it out. It is not staff's fault.
It says on the page, "Adopted: April 20th, 2010", so it must have been nominated before that..

Dear people of the world, not everything on Subeta is perfect. Many big things have gone wrong, the Pet Spotlight is not one of these. Sure it's disappointing, but hey it's just a spotlight for only -one- day.

I third what Emilee said. No need to get so worked up. The thing has proven that it still has some bugs to be worked out. It's one of the newest areas of the sites, it's still very far from perfect. Stop clutching your pearls, sit down, take a few deep breaths, and relax.

wow, so many people getting so pissy! the thing GLITCHED. settle down, holy moly. there's no reason to hiss and growl and scratch. it's just like the way the multiple wins happened: A. GLITCH. settle down, sheesh. it's nothing to get so seemingly crazy & worked up over.
If you're going to transfer your pet to someone, at least take it OFF the "nominate for spotlight" list under your prefs.
Leaving it open to be nominated, when you know it'll soon be blank/different somehow is... I don't know, not exactly irresponsible per se.

Hearse has an awesome story for him trust me, I've read some of it...not sure how this mistake was made though.

Maybe instead of a removal from the queue (since that could be a problem), there could be some kind of locking system for when you put your pet as "ready" for getting nominated? So you can't modify it while it's ready or something, but you could unlock it by clicking "no" and modify it then.

I wish they'd repick... I always love seeing the pets who win so this is a major disappointment (regardless of whether or not this pet WAS good). I agree with Nikki, transfer or abandoning should automatically remove a pet's nomination.

It doesn't matter if the pet had an amazing profile or story before. It doesn't now and isn't even on the correct account. It certainly shouldn't have won.

Huh? Read what? That it was owned by someone else before? No kidding, we figured that out. The spotlight is still inappropriate. An explanation doesn't magically fix that.

It looks like the pet is in a foster home for the time being, which is probably why it doesn't have any profile or anything. It likely did when it was accepted into the queue.
I know Mael's owner, mael does have an amazing story and profile, it was taken down since Mael is being held by someone ese right now. He must have been accepted before being transfered over.
