In every child’s life there is one story, one fairy tale that stays with them forever. For Mischka it wasn’t a typical story, it was a little out of the ordinary. Mischka was always told she was special, just like any other child would be told by their parents too. Mischka was told everyday how wonderful and beautiful she was, how when she entered a room faces would light up, people would laugh over her jokes and people hug her when she was sad. But Mischka was rarely sad except for one night when the story she was told oh so often never came true. One night the moon stopped following her. Mischka looked out her window and searched every inch of the sky to try spot the moon but it was nowhere in sight. After what seemed like hours of searching Mischka finally gave up.That night she lay her head down on the pillow sad as any little girl could be and drifted to sleep.

When Mischka woke up in the morning, the sun shone brightly through her window and birds chirped ever so sweetly, Mischka remembered what had happened last night. She got up and ran as fast as her tiny legs could down stairs to tell her mother. She explained how every night the moon would peer through her window and watch over her in her sleep, how mothers story always came true but how last night the moon didn’t appear. She wondered if the moon was mad at her or maybe the moon decided that Mischka wasn’t special anymore, Mischka became so upset and as her mother whipped away her tears, she explained how sometimes even at night time the sky is covered in clouds and that the moon was there the clouds were just covering it. Mischka looked up at her mother with puffy red cheeks and tears staining her face and asked why the clouds would keep the moon from her. Her mother softly laughed and said that they were just doing their job.

The next night was Mischka looked into the sky to find the moon there it was lighting up the night sky staring right at her.
