Masha had always grown up around those that were working for the rising corperations. It was always assumed that one day she would also be working for the same company as her parents- though they wanted success for her, and always pushed her as a youth. She obeyed them as a dutiful daughter, focusing on her studies and extracurricular activities in order to make her parents proud. Though she was always a quiet child this by no means meant she was unintelligent, and she caught the notice of many of her teacher for her excellent in school. She was promptly transferred to a more focused school- where she flourished under the tutelage of her teachers.

She was sent to a training academy after her schooling, where she trained to be a covert operative for Gorlov Global, the same company that her parents worked for. The company, though once prosperous and formidable, had lost most of its wealth to the other competing syndicates that whittled away at Gorlov's power until they were required to seek help from Devar Biotech; a fledging syndicate that showed promise with its widespread distribution of augments.

Though not a Gorlov herself, Masha possessed enough Gorlov blood to be shipped across to the Devar family as a ward, raised under the care of Kalaratri Devar, the matron and CEO of Devar Biotech. Entered into training for the elite guard at the age of sixteen she battled her way through the next eight years of training, until she became signed over to the Guard.

The Alliance, though a beautiful civilization of glittering towers that pierced the heavens, blackened as the levels into the city got lower. A pervasive fog clung to the lower city, blackening the sun from the citizens that lived below. Above, skyways cut between the towers to lift those with the means above the filth, their feet treading across air.

The world above called for cold people to walk so high from the ground and so Masha covered her heart with frost, following the commands of her superiors as she ran through the world. A soldier through and through, she impressed her superiors enough to climb the ranks of the Agents until she was just at the second class.

Here, the world shook with a revelation that brought mankind one step closer to godhood; mechanical augments. Replacing the organic limb with a synthetic counterpart resulted in longer lifespans and humans that could do more than ever before. As with all technologies, however, this discovery synthesized with weaponry and became implimented in the elite military that every syndicate employed.

Masha, when prompted with the idea of augmented her body to join this elite, considered it; then gave herself to the procedure and became transhuman, the step beyond what only biology can create. Wires traveled from synthetic eyes to mechanized arms, legs, organs supported with nanotubes.
