Ah... hyperbolas, directrices, polyhedra, asymptotes. Could there be anything more beautiful? I think not. The joys of life hit their absolute maximum in mathematics, the only place where equality does not have to be strived for, where one can dare to deviate from the average and be greater, or lesser, or even irrational and be every bit as solid in his resolve, where our differences do not divide us, but merely add to the sum total of things that make this world complex and wondrous. There are constants one can trust in, no side is ever emphasised over any other, and it's not the face you present to the world that matters, but the volume inside.

I've always found that there's a certain beauty in the look of faceted solids—they're simple, symmetrical, and free of all the rough edges and imperfections scattered throughout everything else in this world. Ah, polygons, so unbiased, with every angle of every side from zero to three hundred-sixty degrees... why, if I had my way, everything would be subdivided into little polygons one of these days. A world of triangles, trapezoids, rhombuses, hexagons... parallel lines, intersecting lines, supplements, planes, congruences... who knows, maybe with a little bit of hard work my dream will come true. I can only hope.
