Description

The mysterious Quince roam the bleak wastelands of Atebus. Well-adapted to the low gravity environment, the Quince's long, spindly limbs and blankly reflective eyes give rise to an otherworldly appearance. Quince generally travel in small groups of no more than seven, although it is common for particularly solitary Quince to spend the majority of their lives alone.

Ziaran scientists have speculated that the Quince, who apparently have no need for food, generate energy directly from starlight. The voiceless Quince appear to communicate with each other through a system of signals with their agile limbs and fingers. Attempts to learn their language have failed, although some skeptics question whether the largely solitary Quince have ever managed to develop a system of communication that goes beyond simple gestures.

Quince are almost never found offworld - a life spent on seas of dust under an endless sky has resulted in a fear of enclosed spaces, which makes travel by rocket impossible. However, it is rumoured that Quince have been successfully tranquilized and smuggled back to Subeta, where they have managed to establish a sparsely dispersed colony on the dusty plains of Saherimos.
