Once upon a time there was a girl infatuated by the stars, she peeked up at them through her celestial scar: a perfect five-pointed star sat atop her right eye, which always made her feel she was one with the skies. Every day, whether clear skies or rain she would peer through her telescope trying to contain the excitement for the vast galaxies. She challenged herself to give them all names, just one of her many celestial games.
The heavenly bodies that lit up the world, made her feel warm and fuzzy and she sat all curled in a blanket on a cold winter night, gazing above to find which one was the brightest. As the hours flew by and she became lost in the skies, then took a deep breath and began to visualize floating up high doing somersaults amongst nebulae.
Suddenly she remembered a tip she heard from her mother about using your dreams and transporting to another world as you sleep. Maybe tonight as she counted the sheep, she could practice this and delve deep into the depths of the universe, finally immersed in the divine aura from above.

It was on that night that Luminary decided to descend into the planes of the galaxies, with attention undivided she closed her eyes tight, wrapped up in her blankets she focused with all of her might. "Oh, please let me travel to a distant land, maybe then I will begin to understand, what my purpose may be in this life here on Earth, I can wake up to an enlightened all-knowing rebirth." The night became still and before she could fight it, sleep swallowed her up and she could not deny it. She was falling asleep in her warm cozy bed, all tucked away tightly with a large bow on her head. Although initially hesitant she no longer put up a fight, she allowed her body to settle and began dreaming for the night.
When she had settled, she was surrounded by stars, big ones and small, bright, yellow, and glowing, some that were paler and some were still growing. Her heart was flooded with sudden delight, as she floated over to them and giggled at the sight. Their warmth engulfed her with a pleasant feeling, and strangely she felt an odd sense of healing. She had never felt more at home than at this present time, a feeling only described as divinely sublime. Oh, the number of stars she could count from this new perspective! She rolled up her over-sized sleeves with intent for her new objective; she giggled and began counting the twinkling stars when suddenly she felt a tingling sensation over her scar. Although bizarre, she didn't panic - she felt strangely at ease amongst the star matter, purely organic.

"You are one with the stars, my dear child" a voice whispered from the abyss, "let them kiss your face gently and make up the freckles on your skin, let the constellations form, lose track of where you end and they begin. The time has come for you to make a decision, to stay here where you belong, or return to your family on Earth" a shiver ran down her back at the idea of never seeing her mother again, though conflicted, she pondered the thought of becoming one with the stars. She felt so at home, as she gently brushed her scar that was tingling and warm. Her skin freckled with twinkling shape-shifting forms, she inhaled and spoke although it made her voice quiver. "Although I am feeling free up above, I cannot imagine leaving those that I love. As much as the stars make my heart fill with joy, they will always be there for me to enjoy. All I must do is look up above, and the stars will shine brighter, illuminated by my love." "Very well, my dear," said the mysterious voice, "you are the only one who can make that choice. Just know that you always have family up here, and don't ever stop looking up, whether cloudy skies or clear."
Luminary awoke to the glorious sun, she reminisced on the night that was packed full of fun. She looked down at her skin and noticed it still glowing, and smiled a big smile with all her teeth showing. She went down the stairs to greet her lovely mother and told her of the adventures in the world where no other person was able to travel. Her mother smiled gently and kissed her on the head, and promised to peer through the telescope with her every night before bed. The End
