Getting ready in the morning was SUCH a chore. Those lower class citizens in the Districts just wouldn't understand since they have it so easy. All they have to do is wash their faces (if that) and off they go. The life of someone in The Capitol was busy, busy, busy. First, you must get yourself groomed. Only the finest make-ups, dyes, and wigs will do. Keeping up with the trends was such a burden, as the premier city of Panem. The spotlight was always on you and thus you were constantly updating to the newest, hottest trends. New, brilliant designers were coming out every day. Sometimes this alone could make you tired. Not to mention all the parties, events, appearances.. it was enough to make a normal girl's head spin. Luckily thanks to the brilliant minds here, we've created a way to take one simple pill and make attending all of these affairs so much easier and the foods, so much tastier! Life in The Capitol was such an amazing thing but was reserved for those like me. It wasn't always that amazing though..

President Snow being the smart, capable and most beloved leader told us about the war. It was such a terrible war. Widows, orphans, a motherless child. This was the uprising that rocked our land. Thirteen districts rebelled against the country that fed them, loved them, protected them. Brother turned on brother until nothing remained. And then came the peace, hard fought, sorely won. A people rose up from the ashes and a new era was born. But freedom has a cost. When the traitors were defeated, we swore as a nation we would never know this treason again. And so it was decreed, that each year, the various districts of Panem would offer up in tribute, one young man and woman, to fight to the death in a pageant of honor, courage and sacrifice. The lone victor, bathed in riches, would serve as a reminder of our generosity and our forgiveness. This is how we remember our past. This is how we safeguard our future.
