HISTORY

One of many

I use to belong, you know.
Born into a wealthy family, adored by all since I could become anything they wanted. I was beloved.
It happened during the fifth summer after my birth, the sun was shining, the birds was singing and I was brushed and pampered before going out with my trainer. Today my trainer was finally ready to investigate the real world as an official trainer. I was so proud and during the whole time at the beginning, I followed proudly at their heel.
I felt the sun reflect off my beautiful shiny brown coat, I couldn't help but keep my head held high during the whole time, little did I know, it was not going to last.

It all started that cloudy day about a month into our travels together. I saw something glitter near the corner of our camp.
I couldn't help myself, I reached out to loosen it from it's hiding spot. My trainer would praise me for bringing them something so wonderful. What a mistake that was...
I place a paw firmly on the stone and suddenly, I was enveloped in white light. I cried out as I felt the light blind me suddenly. I can't explain the feeling I felt when being surrounded by that bright light besides that sensation of changing, internally and externally. I felt no pain, just different.
I slowly opened my eyes and felt the blood leave my face, the sight of seeing how enraged my trainer looked terrified me.
"You disgust me" my trainer sneers at me as they kick dirt at me suddenly, I look away and started to back away in fear, "shoo, go away, I don't want you, I never wanted you to change" they howl as they ran off, I felt myself remain rooted to the ground, watching my trainer run away.
The rain fell from the sky, unnoticed that it even started, the tears flowed freely from my eyes.

Many moons had passed as I crept along the path.
I was now alone and unloved.
Then a young woman noticed me one early evening as I huddled under a tree. The sun reflected off her dark hair, the woman gingerly approaches me, a white pokemon trotted alongside her.
I felt afraid, I backed away. She stopped moving closer.
She looks to her companion and hands it something. Her companion, I think it's an Absol, crept closer and sat the item near the entrance of where I was hiding, the Absol retreated back to the owner and they both walk away.
I moved forward and sniff the pastry. I looked around quickly and grab the food. I quickly jumped back and eat the delicious treat without a second thought.

The funny part I noticed during this time, she and the Absol came back everyday with a new treat for me.
After a week, I started to wait next to the entrance.
Two weeks later, I started to meet them halfway.
After a month, I followed her home.
At first, she was stunned that I came after her while carrying the latest treat but she smiled and allowed me to stay.

PRESENT DAY

I was given the chance to change, be different

Honestly, I hid under her bed for the first week. She and Albel took turns to drop treats up there for me, since the room she stayed in was on the second floor of a daycare of some kind. I was grateful for her kindness, it gave me hope. They didn't force me to leave or do anything. The woman always checked on me every night before she went to bed, telling me to have a good night and sweet dreams. I think I had the sweetest dreams because of her.
At first, I wonder if she ever found me disgusting and only kept me around cause she felt sorry for me. Eventually I decided to seek her out.

I found her treating a giant monster of a pokemon. I huddle in the doorway watching, she tenderly spoke to the pokemon and reassuring it.
I felt myself flush in embarrassment at thinking that this woman was like my last trainer.
The pokemon gently places it's head on the womans head and gave a soft cry in relief. the woman chuckles and rubs it's chest affectionately. Albel sat beside me and watches the same sight as me.
I look at Albel to the woman and back again. Albel gently nudges me with his head, his fur soft against my moist skin. I slowly crept forward towards the woman. Albel quickly makes a noise and the woman turns and smiles. I wasn't sure if it was at me or not, till she motioned me closer.
I walk closer until I was next to her, I watch her hand crept closer, I close my eyes in fear but when I felt the warmth of her hand gently pat my head and shoulders, I couldn't help but look up at her. I start to felt myself warm up in joy as I notice she was sweetly smiling at me.
"I'm so glad you came here with us" she says sincerely as she looks down at me "I'm so glad to be blessed with such a beautiful friend like you"
I felt my eyes tear up as she told me I was a beautiful friend, I gently place my head on her leg as I felt the tears of joy run down my face.
I felt loved again and I was so glad to be home.

but I much rather remain the same but change inside
