Profile

Rua is a cheerful, unapologetically optimistic young woman that always strives to see the best in people. Raised by generously wealthy parents and always rather spoiled, she can be quite naive and has little understanding of the world around her. She is, however, generous toward those less fortunate than her, and is learning more about the realities of life, slowly but surely.

Quite the stereotypical girly girl, Rua adores socializing, clothes and makeup, and all things cute. Growing up never wanting for anything left her without much in the way of ambition, and she decided to go to beauty school for lack of more interesting options. She isn't sure what she's doing or what she wants to do, but it's something, at least, to make it seem like she's moving forward like the adult she's supposed to be now.

She dearly loves her older brother Caquex and named her pet frog after him. She owns two hermit crabs as well: Shelly and Herman, both of which turned out to be female. (Rua didn't find out Herman was female until after naming her, and thinks the crab would be too confused by a name change.)

Rua and her brother are polar opposites in many ways; where Rua is outgoing and happy-go-lucky, Caquex is an antisocial, perpetually grumpy loner with a long history of getting himself into trouble. Despite their differences, the two siblings have always been close and they get along very well, having long since mastered the art of getting over their disagreements.

While neither is particularly inclined toward the magical, both siblings have a strong affinity to the element of water, which has given rise to a shared interest in the husbandry of aquatic pets. Caquex keeps a number of aquariums and Rua loves to help him with the decorating and upkeep of them. Her very favorite part, though, is getting to assist in the naming process for new arrivals by offering increasingly ridiculous suggestions; Rua is not above the base urge shared by so many younger siblings to annoy their elders.

There are few things that Rua loves more than sharing interests with her brother, and Caquex's influence has given her quite an appreciation for guns; she's an excellent shot and knows a surprising amount on the topic. He also encouraged her to learn and practice self-defense, and Rua is deceptively strong underneath her bright and innocent appearance.

Rua is very aware of her brother's flaws but she likes to think that they bring out the best in one another; Caquex has helped her become a stronger person with more confidence in her ability to take care of herself, and she has helped to encourage his kinder qualities, no matter how hidden he tries to keep them.
