I haven't always been like this. In fact, once I was one of the best volunteers at the Donation Corner, but that was all before the trip to Darkside changed me. It was all Maleria's fault. See, Evenia and I took a trip to Darkside because of the rumours that there was a Genetech Lab there. She had a theory she wanted to test out regarding a certain item on her WishList, and the only place where she could create it was at this Lab she'd recently heard about. On the way there, we were cornered by Maleria and forced to perform a quest for her. Our reward? Turning me into a Nightmare Bumbus.
There are days when I miss my old form, but I have to admit that this new form of mine casts off a lot of constraints the Subetan society presses on the average pet. If I lie, cheat, steal, no one raises an eyebrows about it. Basically, everyone assumes that because of my nightmare status, I'm going to perform evil deeds. So, I can literally get away with murder. There is no longer any pressure to be an outstanding Subetan citizen.
Maybe I should venture back to Darkside and thank Maleria one day.
