I was born in an orphanage; a dark, joyless, forbidden place. There was nothing to do but work work work until the day ended. The other chais were content with there lot. But I? Mais moi? I wanted more. One day, when I was cleaning near the mistress's room- she was a particularly grouchy charlie- and I heard a word. It was the strangest word I'd ever heard (ha ha; rhyme) but it brought on the most wonderful sensation. A feeling that the world was larger, wonderful, and full of something I'd been lacking...knowledge. I snuck out that night. Not five blocks away, I came upon a house filled with these books. With the help of a 'librarian' at first and later on my own, I read the entire library. Now my thirst for knowledge is insatiable. I know nine different languages so far and with the help of my trusty pepei, Quilly, I'm working towards my goal of reading every book on Subeta.
