Rough character idea:
Moves to Tokyo, Japan because of her fathers job. Grew up as a very sickly child and spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals. She tries hard to make friends in Tokyo but being in the hospital makes it difficult. She becomes obsessed with attempting to learn origami, even though she's not very good at it. She also loves the kites they fly, which she can sometimes see from her hospital window. One day her class surprises her in the hospital with a bunch of paper cranes, stars, and even a koi kite. And some more stuff happens. Not sure if this is going to have a happy or sad ending yet.
