As he paced he watched the line of people pass him by. He walked with them till the wall stopped him, smiling his best toothy grin and squealing in dino like delight when someone glanced at him. Still everyone walked past day after day.

"Your doing it wrong." The pet on the other side of the wall said one day. "All your noises are scaring them off, if you want them to pick you its simple you have to say one thing." Raptar looked at the old pet whom he had seen many times come in and out of the pound. Tilting his head to the side to stare at the older pet Raptar waited for the phrase. "I love you. The suckers fall for it every time. Your young still, someone will pick you." Coughing the old pet lay down to sleep. Raptar noted he did not stir again the next morning. But then two nice people in white coats came and took the sleeping pet out of the cell and down the hall.

The next group of people that came by Raptar tried his new phrase "I ruuuzzz Vu" The people frowned at him and walked on. The next day more people came and again Raptar tried. "I Rudd Uooo!" He shouted harder, smiling his gleaming smile. The people passed him again. Weeks passed and still no one picked him, try as he might.

Walking with the people once more Raptar smiled and whispered his special phrase, having made his voice hoarse from all the weeks of trying. "I ruv you..." He had already turned back to start his pacing again when a girl took a step away from the line to stand before his cage and watch him. Noticing the girl he swiveled his head to look at her with one eye and then the other. His mouth was suddenly dry as he became nervous, what was happening, what was going on? Moving in front of the bars he stood and looked down at the girl, flexing his claws he tried again. "I ruv you."

The girl smiled at him, waving at the lady and having her open the cell. The girl stepped inside and walked up to the big dino as he nervously stepped from foot to foot not believing his eyes. Once more he uttered. "I ruv you." The girl nodded, "Your sweet, I think your just the pet to take home big guy."

Did he hear right?! Home? Really, finally, he would have the place he had dreamed of for so long? Taking the step close to the girl he held her gently with his claws, "I ruv you." Tears began to flow from his eyes as she placed her hands on his talons and responded, "I love you too." Enveloping her in a hug Raptar broke down into happy tears. "I Ruv You! I Ruv You!" The girl hugged him feircely back and then with gentle hands led him from the pound to his new life and his new home.
