Victoria had thought it would be interesting working for the Dark Goddess but she'd been very disappointed.

Maleria had grandiose ideas but there was little she could do with Shinwa and the Oracle watching her all the time. She spent her days stockpiling weapons and spell ingredients and raging about things she regarded as insults. A favourite rant of hers was about the trading card dedicated to her being really common while a nobody like Elwood had a super rare card.

Victoria put up with it because the career path she'd chosen included training to be an assassin. Maleria had a long list of people she wanted to be assassinated but the time was never right so Victoria despaired of ever using her new skills. Then she had an idea. Assassinating people was legal in Tormirgard territory so she persuaded Maleria to let her go to Ytiva so she could get in some practise. This was the start of a very lucrative sideline because the harvesters' ability not to be seen unless they wanted to be was an invaluable asset.
