Story

Let me tell you that being in a kennel sucks! It is definitely not easy for us puppies to be snatched from our mothers to be put in a kennel with some other random puppy, arguing over food and attention from those who come to gawk at us from the other side of the glass. Making an impression is how we find a new home and finally get to escape these plastic prisons! Well... I may be exaggerating just a little bit, but it is all about the first impression for us. People stare, like what they see, request to take us out. If you butter them up, wag a little tail, lick some face, you could earn yourself a one-way ticket to paradise! At least, that is what they say...

It was just a regular day, the store had been open a while and it was nap-time, I was tired of seeing all the people pass by without even glancing at me. I was just closing my eyes when I see two suckers--I mean lovely people came into my view. I, of course, pulled out all the stops. To them, I have to be the perfect angelic puppy, wagging and excitable. I can not let them see my inner demon now, can I? They take me out and my acting was without flaw. They love me, especially the shorter one with the long dark hair. She seems gullible to my act and is eating up every bit of it. They bring me home on the spot and purchase new toys, treats and all kinds of new things for me to destroy.

I let them have their day of happy smart "can do nothing wrong" puppy before I pull out the rage later that night. She has ended up naming me Vivi, though I notice more often she calls out Vee or Veeba to me. They try to keep me out overnight, but oh my... There are far too many fun things in the room to play with. Wires and glasses and breakables, oh my! I am simply unable to resist. This room is my playground and everything must be destroyed! I see some wires in the corner and I pounce on them with glee. Just as I'm about to start shredding through them, the light turns on and the girl rubs her eyes in confusion. She sighed and put me into a kennel where I spent many nights to come. I couldn't help it, okay?! Every Time the lights went out, I become restless and I just can not keep still. Everywhere I lay was uncomfortable and everything around looked so fun to play with.

The dark haired girl learned from her mistake and started keeping me in the kennel at night. I guess at least she stuffed it with blankets, so much for my super fun destruction time. Much easier to sleep in without all the room calling for me to explore and ransack. The day came when she brought me into the car for a ride. Let me tell you that I love the car!! It is SO fun and the sights and smells I can't even explain the greatness! She took me to some sort of building and when we entered it was horrifying! All these loud VROOOOM sounds and banging about. She spoke to another woman over a counter, after a few nods, the girl handed MY leash to this woman. And do you know what she did? SHE LEFT ME. I know I have been a bit wild, but-but how could she do this to me? (Okay, okay, so I may have peed a little when we walked in, but I was scared!)

After she left, the woman took me to a gate and locked me into a crate. I felt like I just went backwards in my life, it was supposed to be easy street from now on. After what felt like an eternity, another woman came and picked me up out of the crate and put me in a large silver bowl. I was not quite sure what to expect, but I sure wasn't expecting to be soaked with water and scrubbed down with smelly stuff. This day has to be, BY FAR, the worst day of my life. Once the scrubbing finishes, they lift me to a table where they blow hot air on me and from there, they pull my hair with brushes and shear me like I'm some kind of sheep! Once they're done, their torture tactics on me, they clip my nails, put something around my neck and put me back in the crate. This abuse never ends. I sit and pout for who knows how long until a familiar voice reaches my ears and I see the girl has come back for me! I knew these people couldn't live without me, come on. I am obviously the best! I'll never admit to anyone that I actually missed her, too.

We go back home and she spoils me. I knew I had taught her well. She best spoil me rotten after what I just had to go through! Darkness falls and we go to bed, she tries to get me to sleep on her bed again, but it's impossible to sit still with the playground laid at my paws. Days fly by and every once in a while she tries to get me to stay out but I just can't help myself. Night makes me restless and there's too much fun to be had. Over time, I decide to stop chewing on her things...unless she does something that displeases me, anyway. Then I tend to take it out on her things to show her how unhappy I am about it. Like when she puts me in the room if people come over. All I wanna do is bark, okay? I didn't know that was such a crime, huff.

At least, I get used to sleeping out of my kennel and find that her bed is much more comfortable than the crate. I try to get up there before she does so I can pick the best spots before she can hog them all. Over time, I have grown attached to this girl and I find myself following her where ever she goes. She gives me snacks and gets me lots of play things and makes lots of weird and silly nicknames for me. This confused me at first, but I grew used to her silly nature. It saddens me when she puts on her nicer clothing because it means she will be gone for sooo long. It was then that I realized how happy I am here, even though I get lonely when she is not around. I have lots of toys and her bed I dig around in and mess up after she makes it. And the rest of the family that live here, no, not just any family, they are my family.
