Women are trouble. This is why he tried to stay out of it for as long as he did. But then he met a woman who changed that. All she did was to dance while he sang. Her body and the way she moved were a piece of art. She could express the emotions of his song so perfectly he couldn't take his eyes off of her. It was a love at first sight of sort. Tova.
He admired her and for the first time he felt the need to be near someone. Not sexual closeness but he wanted her to be by his side. And the way she looked back at him said she must have felt the same. She was easy to talk to though Shivan preferred it when she expressed herself through her dances than through words. Still, she had a soft voice and a heart full of kindness. All too soon it became clear to him that she wanted more. More of those eventual moments they had bodily contact and more of those parts of him he kept well locked away. It troubled him. But him denying her subtle hints of longing hurt her though she tried hard not to show. Tova was guarded, too, as if all this was new to her as well. And he felt enough tenderness, if not love, for her to not want to see her sad. And deep down he feared that if he didn't give her something, anything she might leave one day. And he couldn't bear to lose her. She was his inspiration and only with her dancing his songs felt complete.
