Katja was a tiny 8lb rescue feral acquired from the county pound. It took quite a bit of patience, time and understanding for us to become very good friends. She was my lap kitty, my nuzzler, my nighttime cuddler.
She was, however, first and foremost and always, the Psycho Kitteh and I think I loved her all the more for her moments of ankle attacking and random jumps at the wall. Peace to you my little friend, may we meet again beyond the rainbow bridge.
Ode to the Psycho Kitteh
I
Gray of fur and flashing tailed
Lighting fast and razor nailed
Dainty mewling fills the air
She skulks along with savoir faire
And don't you cross her,
Don't you sauce her
Don't you ever, ever boss her
Or she might just knock you flat;

Hunting in the alley dark
On the mousies, leave a mark
Other kitties hide in fear
When the Psycho Cat draws near
Now, don't you pet her
Don't you get her
Were I you, I'd never let her
Near the place you hang your hat;

In the dim light scurry mice
Plump well fed ones- ain't that nice?
She bides with o'er patient care
And pounces four paws in the air
What sicko taught her?
What crazy bought her?
Oh the bloody, grisly slaughter!
All the mouseies down the hatch
Psycho Cat is good like that.

Sated now, full of belly
Only very slightly smelly
On her muzzle, gruesome rash
Takes a bath right near the trash
Devoid of shame, her
Quite same, her
Who could ever hope to tame her
She'd do worse than bristle at-

Lighted window, warmth inside
Scamper in, a place to hide
She creeps up to the bedroom door
To sit and mewl upon the floor
And the fool takes her!
Trustingly takes her!
Purring sweetly, how she fakes her!
Pretending that there was no spat-
