I'm staring as your eyes drain of color. The blue-green trickles down your pale cheeks and when you turn your head, I can see the flecks of gold I used to admire.

Your lips are next. I wasn't aware you were wearing lipstick but you must have been because the color is leeching, oozing off your face.

Blue-green is mixing with pink is mixing with pale peach (where did that come from?). I can't tear my eyes away from this painting in the rain that is you. Beautiful you.

My vision is losing focus but I can tell you're crying by the way the colors have dulled, muddled, at your quivering jawline.

Your haunted, grayscale eyes bore into mine in the most heart-wrenching gaze I've ever witnessed.

"Do you understand?" For the first time, I look away. Anywhere, anything is better than this. I want to cover my ears and scream, but she speaks again.
