Appearance: Looking somewhat like her blonde-haired mother, Lirael also has sleek, dirty blonde hair,, dark brown eyes, and a 'slim' physique.
Personality:
History: Born in a world very similar to ours - but not quite - Lirael Elizabeth Coulter was born in the year 1947 in London, England, in what had since been considered the "Theocracy of Albion". Alongside, her dæmon, named Pygmalion or "Pyg", was born. From what Lirael was told later, she was born the first and only daughter to Marisa and Edward Coulter, the latter of which died before she was born...and later on Lirael would never be quite sure of how her father died, as her mother always kept tight-lipped about it. She did, however, learn that her father had been a cunning, ambitious, and powerful graduate of Oxford University, and a high ranking adviser and theological scholar within the hierarchy of the governing Church. Her mother, Marissa, was also a wealthy and high-ranking Church adviser, eventually coming to head the General Oblation Board in London as the years passed.
From an early age, Lirael was papered by her mother, though most times while her mother was on business, she was left in the care of a her mother's maids, and later, her governesses, Never once did Marisa Coulter allow any male to set foot in her lavish quarters; all the servants and governesses were female, attributing to Marisa's desire to protect her daughter from any dangers involving men. Growing up, Lirael learned history, music, arithmetic and algebra, science, and more; but, above all, she was schooled in Theology and the dogma of the Roman Catholic Church, as well as the teachings of the heretics and how to counter them. Over the years of getting whatever she wanted, Lirael grew spoiled, arrogant, elitist, and aristocratic; having the best money could buy, and two highly influential parents within the Church, made the normally intelligent girl into an insufferable brat.
There came a day, however, when all of that changed.
