Every night you looked up at the Traveler, and every night you felt safe. You don't remember how it happened, how you died, but you remember waking up.

You remember the smell of rusted metal and the sounds of dangerous aliens hunting you, you remember the way your Ghost told you that you had to run. You remember finding a rifle in the wall, you remember the way the buildings creaked and sagged under their own weight, burdened by centuries of neglect.

You also remember the first time your life was ended by one of the aliens that now hunted you.

Death became a constant companion. The robotic voice of your Ghost chirping, "Guardian down!" every time you fell. Every time you got back up, every time you were angrier than you had been before, every time you fought harder. You killed Gods, you destroyed royalty, you cut down alien military leaders with extreme prejudice. You were a hero.

Until one day you couldn't fight anymore. They took the Light, they almost took your City, but you couldn't be crushed beneath their boots. You dragged yourself out of hell and found your Light.

And with your Light, you burned the Red Legion from existence.
