At first, he had thought that he had been born without any magic of his own. Unlike his brother, who had inherited the fire from their father's side, And their mother was simply a common human woman, quite unlike what their father had been expected to marry. So having missed out on that, what magic could he possess?

And at first, he had often wondered if he was going mad, as the reality around him would keep shifting seemingly without any rhyme or reason. Once he realized that there was a certain logic to it, it soon became clear that he did in fact have some magic in him as well - the ability to create illusions.

This was perhaps even worse than having nothing at all. That kind of magic was greatly frowned upon, so if anyone were to discover what he could do...
